It's highly likely that the auction area will never be active again, it was a trial that never took off for PALGN. Also there is nothing in the pipeline for things users can purchase / do for $poons.

If spoons have become somewhat useless why not take them out completely?
Also, do you guys plan on updating the forums with something like AustralianGamer with it's subforums and such?

Removing $poons is likely inevitable, yes.
We recently updated the forums to be split a little, so we don't see the need to update them in any other way.

Sub forums are a bit silly IMO. The forum system can do them now, but there's really no need (we actually had it several years ago, but took it off). Why add an extra link you have to click on to get to where you want to go? It's not like we have so many forums they need to have categories.
As for upgrading the forums... I guess you could say we're doing that. Stay tuned

I hate subforums. The more pages you need to load, the longer it takes to get where you want to go (especially on dialup). I also don't think that the forums are so busy that such subdivision would even be a benefit, sure if thousands of people were posting daily then it would be necessary but that isn't the case.

Aww now you've got me all interested James...
Also, would you guys ever upgrade the media pages for games? It's annoying to load the whole page for every picture.

Will you ever make the site more like IGN, with lots of hosted videos? I notice that PALGN is just focusing on pictures, so far.
Also, any ideas for a new board (that might actually get passed)? I've tried applying to create a new one before, with no success. _________________

Videos need hosting and hosting requires money. I don't think that videos would be worth putting on Palgn, as IGN will always have more availible.
And what kind of new board? _________________

^ I agree, we don't try and offer an amazing amount of videos simply because we can't compete in that aspect.
No new boards are being created at this time.

I was asking more in the sense of, if I wanted to create a new board right now, what would be a good choice of topic that might get passed by the staff/mods. _________________

I would like to see more picture content for games and any easier viewed media panel. at the moment there are 3 or 4 pictures to a review, and it is not very ergonomic and aesthetic, compared to other sites which hold dozens if not hundreds of pictures. This is my main annoyance with the site. Is there a problem with bandwidth in this respect, or more of a copyright issue? Just trying to give constructive critisism here. I've got plenty more but don't want to annoy yas.

A 'No Admeister Board' would probably be successful, but we'll see. _________________

Nothing will get passed, we're not creating new boards ATM.

I'd like to see a more Web 2.0 feel to it, everything a bit more interactive and less cluttered. Like the menu at the side could be something users to tab to hide or show at will to lessen the clutter.
I think I should stop with the suggestions now.

Are you infering that there'll be a major update to the whole site soon? If so that's awesome. You guys really do shit all over 9 out of 10 gaming websites out there.

No major update, we generally work on the site in small parts, obviously the idea is there for a major update but it won't be happening any time soon.
Thanks for the compliments

If we were going to add a new forum, it would be for something that we know that there would be plenty of interest for. _________________

Click the "view all media" link. There generally more than 4 for most reviews. We have some code that copies swags of images from a press resource that we pay for (gamespress), but obviously not all games are on there. When they're not it's a pain to get more than a couple of suitable images.

You'll get two out of those three. Not in any way you might think, though. I can guarantee that

Of course. I suppose that makes the option of buying a new board with your $poons rather redundant then.. _________________
