Okay this is a lame introduction to the thread because it's 5:41am as I type this, but basically all Okami discussion goes in here.
The game releases in two weeks and I personally have been waiting a long time to get my hands on this game. PALGN have recently posted their preview so go check that out. Frozencry actually mentioned something about it being on par with Shadow of the Colossus or something and I have to say, I am inclined to agree with him. My anticipation for this game is as high as it was for SotC (my most anticipated game ever I might add) and yeah, I really can't wait for it. February 14th will be an awesome day for sure. _________________

A game (along with SotC) which shows how video games can be a medium of creativity, art and passion.
How could someone not be excited?

Exactly. My favourite game of all time is SotC, followed closely by Ico. Okami threatens those positions judging by how incredible it all looks. The art style is magnificent. _________________

This game will be amazing. Anything in the same league as SOTC is an instant purchase. _________________

I'm going to go ahead and ask the same question that I posed in the 'no PAL enhancements' thread - Does anyone know if there will there be a special/limited edition of Okami on release? If so I'll get it instantly, if not then I'm afraid that it may have to wait a bit... pending cash-flow. _________________

This game is pushing me to get a PS2... even though I know I should just wait to play it eventually on the PS3 back compatibility... Although that will probably be a long time away

Oh, well bugger. If there's one game that deserves a fancy limited edition with art cards/book etc. it's Okami.
Thanks for the info though _________________

I'll be there on the 14th.
And don't forget to pick up God Hand one week later to pay respects to Clover. _________________

I'll actually keep you posted on that - I'll have a look at my stores system to see if there's any special edition added. It happened with Lost Planet so it may with Okami. _________________

Oh, thanks man! Yeah, I finally got my copy of Lost Planet from Playasia and I have to say that it's a nice looking package. I prefer the setup of it over the GoW one, to be honest. (That, and the US ratings mark is much less obtrusive than our own) _________________

I'd love to have a special (or limited) edition copy of the game actually. Even if the 'extra' content wasn't all that fantastic, it would just make this game seem more special and complete to me considering the whole no more Clover thing. But anyway.
For those that have the game, do not spoil the game for the rest of us. Do so and I will personally kick your rear ends into oblivion. _________________

Okami is doing the same to me but I am getting a PS2 for it and the 20+ other games I plan to pickup.
I am very excited about getting Okami but I won't be getting it at the launch maybe a month or so after it really depends on how heavy my wallet is. This game looks to be great and hopefully will sell really well in Australia, it is disapointing to see the poor sales in the US but hopefully that will change.
According to one of the podcasts that I listen to this game is one game that Nintendo fans would be interested in and would appreciate. _________________

I will personally ban any PS2 owners here who don't buy Okami. Consider this a warning _________________

There was suppose to be an Okami on the DS ( the paintbrush and touchscreen) but now that Clover gone there won't be, shame.

I don't think that was ever meant to happen other than the rumours that were created, like Okami for Wii for instance.
Also a good cause Chris

I know quite a few people have imported the NTSC version of this game, but does anyone know where to get the PAL version cheaper than the $62 I currently have mine pre-ordered for from cd-wow (which by the way has the UK release date of Feb 9th, 5 days before the Aus release) _________________

It seems cheaper just to order and pick up a copy of Swapmagic.
I'm not too excited about Okami because I just am not up to date on it. I'm about to order it along side a slew of RPGs including the behemoth Final Fantasy XII... I figured I would need some kind of actiony game to balance out the gamination.
Personally I don't see why people consider SOTC the best game of all time.. it's good... yeah... but not that good. ICO I never understood.
Since a PS2 is just over 100 now I'd say get it and import some of the great Nippon Ichi titles as well as the classics (DMC3, Jak series, Shadow Hearts, Soul Calibur 3) and you'll pretty much have enough game time to fill you for the year.
