And now, welcome to the first Annual PALGN awards, brought to you by Nintendo – Funding Admeister’s posting habits since 2006.
And now your host, the cheapest man for the job… The Cro.
*insert weak stand up material*
And on to the awards
Okay we’ll kick things off with the Most Improved award*
In all forums people will start out fresh and perhaps just not post the way they should, well this award is here for those who started this way, but have learnt and grown as members of our community.
This one came down to two people….and they ended up a tie…
Admeister and Retroman
Even though Retro is allegedly on holiday something tells me he will find time to claim this prize..
Moving right along we will come to the PALGN Lurker.
This award belongs to a person who is known throughout the community but doesn’t really post perhaps as much as we would like. So the winner is:
Big Pete
Who through is apparent lack of appearances still believes he turned me into a man.
From Lurker we go to Disappearing act
This award honours a person who left our forums, but was always welcome to return.
Hell cut the crap we all know this one is going to:
Capoeira
What can I say, welcome back mate.
Now we will honour the best and worst threads of the year
The best thread was safely one that we would all remember and all had a good laugh too, thanks to Obs and his hilarious CATS!LOL thread…
The worst was one that well, lacked Jibbs, sorry Adam, it goes to POTM but more namely POTM Novemeber
An honourable mention here to the numerous Wii Threads, most of which were absolute junk, but just fell short to POTM…
Now the best competition of the year
This was either one run by the site or hosted on the forum but ultimately it was won by the best competition around….
Palgn’s 12 days of Christmas
Many thanks again go out to the staff and all those who make this great comp possible.
Now we reach the Gfx king
It wouldn’t be a forum without having a set to define who you are. We have a few guys who make quite a nice set, however this guy must have made around half the sets on the site..
Segax
From here we reach the Best Dressed Award*
Who is the best dressed member of PALGN?
In short it isn’t one person, so which two you ask? Well you are two thirds of the way there…
The winners for the best dressed award are:
838 La, Jibbs and The Cro
Yes all three of us received three votes. However I claim the title as I arrive at the mantle first.  Nah, I’ll give props to Segax as he made mine, La and Jibbs are cool enough to make their own.
It wouldn’t be a forum without funny.. right? So who is the funniest member of the boards? We will find out now with the Funny Man* award (sorry ladies, you are above us)
Well a few guys got nominated and rightly so, however it cam down to a two horse race, the judges pulled out everything they could to find that these two again couldn’t be split.. the winners are:
Spanca and Jibbs
For this one.. I think we need one winner and I propose a funny off.. how the fuck do you – oh my god I swore at an awards show - do that do you ask? Rather badly like that… I dunno make it interesting. Not sure if it will work…
So we have funny men… we also have some we just slightly don’t like, it’s not that we don’t like them it’s that we.. well y’know… here is the Most Hated Award
Fortunetly the result allowed me to get away with this, as the winner has not been seen since our dear friend Luke laid down the law… the most hated (yet still loved, if only by a few) is….
Chriharr
Well, I think we shall move away from that rather quickly and arrive at the most fitting award to follow Chriharr up with…. The Nintendo Fanboy award
Nintendo fanboys brought us this great event.. and really it wouldn’t be a gaming forum without them.. hell there might not even be Nintendo with out them, so thank the lord they exist.
Anyway no points for guessing this one:

Thank you for voting for me.. I am greatly disappointed.
Every good console needs a fanboy so as we reach the Microsoft Fanboy* award we find that we don’t have one… we have two…

It is also inevitable (insert Team America guy) that a forum will have a hint of spam, and come Wii time wii had way too much, which is why our winner couldn’t be more deserving…. So the winner of the PALGN Spammer is:

Now to our penultimate award… The Staff Member of the Year Award , I think it is fair to say that all our staff members do a great job, however there can be only one winner, well normally and again this is no exception, the winner is:
Luke
Congratulations to him and the rest of the guys on a great year as PALGN has continued to grow into one of the best, and my only PAL gaming site.
Sadly we have reached the end of the awards, with just one left to dish out and this is perhaps the most illustrious award known to man (cheap pop) it is the PALGN Member of the Year Award Perhaps we all deserve it..? well actually no, although I thank those who voted for me. This is a title that belongs to a great poster, someone who when you think PALGN you think he’s the guy, so it may be quite fitting that the winner of the first PALGN Member of the year award is:

You know have a large burden on your back, which will be with you for the entire year, but with such a mighty post count and always so insightful, with the odd funny one in there, it was meant to be.

I won 3 awards!  Suck on that, everyone else!  Seriously though, thanks for the improved member award people, I appreciate it. The Nintendo one was a no-brainer, and I'm fine with it (I like the sig bar  ). I think the spammer award was a bit much, but I'll have to live with it.

Congrats guys - I would ussually say I support all companies and im not a fanboy but honestly it seems Microsoft is the only company making the fair and good quality deals these days on consoles.

Well i can put away that homebrand kero, no self immolation here folks, i won my beautiful best dressed award, and rightly so!The funniest on the boards though gah that was unexpected, i thought Spanca or Dances were shoe in, nice to know not everything i type is a garbled, unpunctuated mess.Spanx was actually my pick for the award, and he deserves it more then I.
