I'm so excited about this game. I'll have to wait until next year to get it though, as it's (apparently) being released here next year. The characters in it look awesome, and the cool battle system sounds wicked. I may not be a fan of the series, but this is a must have!
Anyone else waiting for this game?

I'm about 15 hours in myself, but the Wii/Zelda have been an almighty distraction this week so it hasn't been played at all! Not to say it isn't awesome, it certainly is.

It's a bit disappointed in this because:
1.The Graphics during gameplay a very meh
2.Story is confusing as hell
3.The battle system gets annoying.

nah the problem is that it comes out afta skool break( thanks square enix bring it out on the day i go back 2 skool) and i'm in yr 11 so i won't have much time 4 games

What a lame reason to want a game. 
I personally can't wait for it's release in January next year, it has been quite a while since Final Fantasy X so yeah it should be good. From what I've heard so far from those who have it, it's been a blast for them and I hope it's the same for me.

Im also waiting for this game, i have played the demo and i like the new battle system, and i find it better that you can see the enemies on the map instead of those annoying battles in the other games.

I played and beat the US version months ago and I think it's one of the best games I've played in a long time. The graphics do not suck, don't believe people who say that.

^ Yeah the graphic is pretty good, on par & in many ways better then the new Zelda on Wii. Which is pretty good consisting the PS2 is weakest console or *last* gen.
Haven't been playing much, battle system can be abit of a whore at 1st, but once your use to it, it flows quite well.

I'm about 40 hours through and the graphics are average (Zelda is much cleaner and nicer). Framerate is rock solid though.
It's good yes, but I'm not convinced the Gambit system will be used again.

Too late, it's in Revenant Wings >_>
The only thing that kinda annoyed me was unexpectedly completing the game. I didn't realise I was in the last level until about the third boss in a row

OK, so its noooooooot fair reading all u guys talking about it when we still have to wait. I dont get it though, PALGN has 31st Jan as release date but I rang EB today and they say 15th Feb? So who am I sposed to believe????

Afaik, PALGN gets their dates from the publishers, so they just go by that.

My money's on stores having it in stock on Jan 31 - DVDCrave will anyway. Show up at EB on Jan 31 and if FFXII isn't on show, tell them other stores are already selling it, if they have the stock they'll put it up for sale.

Cool thanks, Im really starting to develop an anti EB feeling, even though I neva get my games from there. They carry on like theyre the only game shop in the country and have this all mighty power over buyers. Perhaps im just overanalyzing it!!

I cant really say, last Zelda game I played was Ocarina of Time and that totally annoyed the hell out of me all that going back in time repeating itself!!!! Id love to play Twilight but I aint gonna get a new console just for that, the other Nintendo games dont interest me at all.
Only started FF series from X so XII better stack up to the graphics and summoning, pleeeeeeeeease.

Don't give you the oranges and apples crap? Dude, don't tell us what to do for one and for two, don't bother asking a question you know is silly when only a few sentences down you admit that you're a crazy Final Fantasy fan. Anyone's decent input into the question would be irrelevant in the end as you are more of a Final Fantasy fan than you are a Zelda one.
Oh and I will give you the oranges and apples crap too because both franchises are incomparable. I went against your word? Deal with it.

I'm using component on both. PS2 is very aged, jaggie city. That and the style they've gone for in FFXII doesn't help. That is, the pale, sandy look. 480p support with Zelda (on the Wii) makes the image much richer. Actually one of the big things that pissed me off in FFXII was the voice quality in game cut scenes. It's heavily compressed and the quality is low. It's fine in the CG movies. Must of been a decision due to the sheer size of dilaogue. Ah well, blue-ray should fix that for FFXIII 
RE: which is better.
I like Zelda better overall, mainly because in Zelda as you feel like it's more hands on. Because of the type of game FF is you can never really have complex puzzles etc. But FF is all about story and management so they are both brillant in their own right.
