Hi All.
This is my first forum membership. It hurt a little but now I like it 
Super impressed with your ...... appearance. Dont know the terminology you use but your pictures, 'avatars'?? Whatever you call them. I want one.
I used to play Warcraft 3 lots and Unreal. Old? Yup but enthusiastic. Now I live in Japan and hope to get a pc soon and was checking you all out on a work computer and thought. Cool! So cool I had to enthuse to you all. Hope this comes out in the right place as I've no idea what I'm doing.

I believe I'm in gaming heaven here (Japan), but can hardly speak a word of the lingo. My attempts at communication just cause discomfit to the other party so asking gaming advice is tricky.
I've only owned pc's and that was years back. Recomendations on a good console? The game shops here are gagging for my yen but I need a few clues in English. Not too keen on handheld at the mo.

Welcome Sid, I hope no Japanese are seeing that you've said about handhelds, becuase the DS seems to be like the bible over there.  And if you want to fit in, all I would suggest is stay clear of the xbox, all 10 that you will probably find in stores I mean.

Seems a little weird. I do however enjoy weird. Met a Japanese girl four years back. We made a baby! Once I recovered from that shock we lived happily so far.... Anyway her english is near perfect and I was lazy. I'm learning now as fast as posible and teaching english for a living so speaking japanese isn't a requirement. Also keen to do Aikido here as I've done about 12 years of martial arts. On and off. haya!

so you dont need to know Japanese in order to teach english? SIGN ME UP!
Also, like Qbert said, maybe you should get a DS. There are plenty of good Japanese DS games to purchase (Bleach, Osu Tatakae Ouendan), and you can also play US games.

I come to the Palgn site for release dates and info from time to time so I dicided maybe it was time I became a member of the forums. I consider myself a veteren newbie as in I've been playing games since I was young but I'm still pretty hopeless so take it easy if I say something stupid cause I almost certainly will.
