Damn! 
Do teams by selecting characters in Melee, clicking the MELEE sign in the top left corner and there you go.
Just seeing if anyone knew about this or not, cause I heard some stuff about it being cut out of the PAL version...

If you could do it in SSB, chances are you could do it here. Did you know in team mode, when one player loses all of his stock, pressing start will borrow a life from your teammate?
Same as SSB.
