Good to see the song list is improving to cater for people other than guitar-fetishists Add to that downloadable songs, should make for a good game. Shame about the MTV buyout though.

Oh come on man, you gotta love a little Cherry Pie every now and then.
It's actually one of only about 3 songs I'm familiar with outta that whole list. _________________

You'll be happy to know I was soundly beaten by the resident Warrant fan for my comment above _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

The confirmation for song titles came from the selectable song list in game. By the sounds of things, it's just like Guitar Hero 1 - select the song, and when it's loaded it up it'll tell you who it's performed by. The possible songs come from more than one artist performing a song (as is the case with You Really Got Me, a Kinks original covered by Van Halen) or by more than one song sharing the same name.
Ke-rist I hope it's not Wolfmother in that track listing. _________________

I had a pretty good idea for an easter egg for Guitar Hero 2 X360 during lunch.
Just imagine, if you will, rocking out on Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight with your wireless GH2 controller. All of a sudden, the song is replaced by radio transmissions from planes flying overhead.
If that ever happens to me in game, I don't think I'd be able to play the song again from laughing too hard _________________

Metallica will definitely not be on it, they seem to hate people using their music... That's confirmed by the devs. _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

yea true they suck when it comes to that but they could have more megadeth songs atleast. megadeth seem to like giving songs away after they have hanger 18 and in GH1 they had symphony of destruction.

It's really bad, for example WWE needed to pay $50k US roughly to use their songs for only one PPV broadcast, if they want it to go to DVD, they need to pay more.
Metallica are just Royalty whores. _________________

Songs I'd glad are on GH2 than any Metallica song you can think of:
Mother (if it is indeed Danzig's Mother)
Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight
Them Bones
Search and Destroy (Again, if it's The Stooges)
War Pigs
Killing in the Name
John The Fisherman
Madhouse
Hangar 18 _________________

It's cool how they increased the difficulty of Expert modeon GH2. I'm also looking forward to the practice mode.

Practice mode is surely the second best new feature after the co-op mode. The game would be more than a bit frustrating without it - such as the insane-sounding guitar six and a half minutes into Freebird.
I'm still hoping for Crazy Train to be in the last 2 songs that we don't know about, but I'm pretty happy with the list so far. I'll also be interested to see if there is a rise in the quality of the bonus songs after the success of the first game.

Co-op and practice are great additions to the game. The first GH was pretty rough for not having practice at all.
The bonus songs should be better, hopefully it won't be "Songs from bands formed from hamonix staff" this time _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

I just played the Guitar Hero 2 demo.
<eric_cartman>Who wants to f***in' touch me!?</eric_cartman>
I played the songs on hard to get a fair idea of what the game would throw at me. Straight up, you need to move your hand around on the neck a hell of a lot more than the previous game. Shout at the Devil is the easy song of the demo. Strutter kicks it up a notch, but nothing too difficult. I was playing You Really Got Me, but the controller I was playing it on was slightly broken. The tilt sensor wasn't working correctly, so I tried to slap the select button and ended out pressing both select and start and thus resetting the game back to the demo disc menu After loading it up again, I tried YYZ. What an insane song! That's going to be in the last set for sure. It also had what I didn't think it would have - chords on the index and little finger (ie OXXO with X representing fingers off and O representing fingers on). OOO chords were in that song. I then gave You Really Got Me another go, and got a rather big shock at the end: a chord that looked like OOXO. Yup, three finger chords are being designed to screw you over
Bring on November!
EDIT: We couldn't find a second controller (!), so I can't comment on any multiplayer functions - whether they were included in the demo, or whether they rock. _________________
