Missed this earlier... have you ever listened to Liquid Tension Experiment? I have both the albums that the group produced, excellent stuff

Guys, is it worth posting a 'whole album are you listening to now' thread?
I like to listen to an album the whole way through rather than listen to random playlists, you know. actually i will contradict myself by saying that every morning while i get ready for work, i compile a playlist of 10 or so songs. most of them a mixed bag of loud shit to get me pumped. then at night i like to listen to softer stuff. weekends are the time for album time!
Anyway the following albums are in my (virtual) CD player:
The Kooks - Inside In, Inside Out
Audioslave - Revelations
The Black Keys - Magic Potion
The Bronx
what about you guys?
p.s. this is not a 'what is your favourite album' question. it's what you have been spinning a lot lately. oh and don't say a band just because you have listened to 1 or 2 songs. im talking about freaking records, man!

No. I frequently (as in, not once in the past 3 and a half months) post whole albums (or mixtapes) I am listening to in this thread. Instead of Artist and Song you use Artist and Album. Stupid.

I listen to albums at a time generally, so whenever I post what I'm listening to it's usually a track playing from the album I list.

Song: Day Sixteen: Loser
Artist: Ayreon
Album: The Human Equation
Ayreon's one of the few metal bands I've managed to get my girlfriend to like. At least she picked a really good one to latch on to

Am I the only one on these boards that was left rather unimpressed with Ghost Reveries? It's not horrible, but if you look at their career progression in terms of albums (all building up to Blackwater Park; then a greatest hits album that actually consisted of new material; an album that's very deceptively metal and pure Opeth), Ghost Reveries seemed like a regression. I chalk it up to what I call the "Roadrunner Effect" - get signed to a big label, and release a sub-par album
I'd also like to say seeing them live was better before all the kids invaded after the release of Ghost Reveries

Ghost Reveries owned, it may not be on par with their previous albums but then I'm not the type of person who compares albums either. By itself, the album was freakin' awesome.
On the albums question that Game. Set. Mitch. asked, most of the time when I make a post in here I will be listen to an album rather than a random playlist. Which is why I use the 'Album:' option in my posts.

Ghost Reveries is amazing, even though it isn't entirely on par with most of their other work. I think the only difference is that they're a bit more tame in Reveries, whereas in their previous albums it was more raw. That's just my 2 cents anyway.
Song: Just Like You Imagined

Song: Uterus
Artist: Das Ich
Album: Lava
Das Ich is quite simply the best German band currently active (Yes it's a big call for a relatively obscure industrial band, but listening to their catalogue presents an exceptionally good case for it)
In regards to Opeth: I'd list Blackwater Park as awesome. Amazing, from my point of view, is reserved for albums like Orphaned Land's Mabool - you'll have to import it though, as the only copy I've ever found in both Brisbane and Sydney was a vinyl copy at Rocking Horse in Brisbane.
