Hey guys, I thought I'd post my impressions of GameCube and it's games. I played it this past weekend at the Gold Coast EB.
The controller is fantastic! It's so damn comfortable! It has a sturdy feel, and the control and C-stick feel great, as did the button and layout, but I did find the rumble to be a bit weak.
I first tried out Luigi's Mansion, and it's a damn fun game! I went through some training to get the hang of the controls, and later on was on my way to the mansion. The game's graphics are fantastic, as is the gameplay. Overall, it's a fun game.
Next came Rogue Leader...
WOW!
I was blown away by the graphics, specially the cockpit view, and so was the crowd who was watching me play! I did the Death Star level destroying the deflection towers, which then led me to the famous trench run sequence. Unfortunately, that's where I went down.
Overall, awesome game! Must buy.
I also tried out Waverace extensively, and it's an awesome game too! I played all the modes, and got the controls down perfectly. They were ackward at first, but after 30 minutes of playing, they felt perfect.
The game's graphics are great, specially when the water 'hits' the screen.
I'm actually considering getting this over Sonic Adventure 2...
So overall, I can't wait to get my Cube.
Other misc things - I got to hold the mini disc/dvd, and man was it small! While looking at it, I noticed that it said, "GameCube Demo Disc - March 2002" So I'm guessing we might see demo discs in some way?
So go to your local EB and you try it out. _________________

Yup, I had my first GCN experience today as well. Sort of. EB had a bigish TV tucked in the back corner of the shop, with GCN signs all around it. I was just about to walk out after noticing how crap Amped is, when I saw a guy with a purple controller.
Naturally, I headed over, and grabbed the GCN controller just as he headed off. I have to admit, it was pretty damn comfy. However, it was just a bit too small for my hands. The sticks were so small. The two shoulder buttons seemed very springy as well. The side buttons around B (I think) were poking up a bit too high, not letting my slide my thumb over them easily enough. Aside from that, it was pretty damn good. Puts the Xbox thing to shame. But, I still like the N64 and DS2 controllers better.
As for the games... Eh... It was a bit of a non-event. Somehow, I left Wave Race demo and back to the interface. I had a quick blast of Rogue Leader. I had no idea what I was doing. The graphics didn't look like much, but it was a space level where I could see nothing by my X wing and a few things on the ground. I'm disapointed I had to go before I could work out how to get back into the Wave Race demo. But meh.
The GCN has grabbed my attention, though. And while I doubt I'll get one at launch, I suspect one will be in my possession at some stage over the next 12 months.

Yo CIV! Edrop here. FInally got your email and, i see, you finally got your hands on a GC. It's damn funky ain't it? The GC controller makes so much a difference after playing ong hours with the XBox one. You don't have to look down to see what buttons your pressing!
You thought those games were good. You better try out SSB:M real quick!
Yeah, I finally played it, and I played it my 3rd time today.
I once again gave Waverace a go, and the EB guy says, "You're pretty good at this. I suck at it"
Then I played Rogue Leader, and once again I got a crowd around me. Everyone was just awed at the graphics, and someone pointed to the screen and said, "Look at that xbox game, it's so clean!"
I also watched the SSBM movie, but I want to get my hands on it too. _________________
