I used to have the Fox Break the Target world record (7.25 seconds) in SSBM, but it was beaten pretty quickly.
This is really just an excuse to post the NSMB final castle vid I just made, but go ahead and post any world records you may hold (to your knowledge)

Damn you chronorox (in a good way )...
I tried to beat ur score in that final castle as mini-Luigi (yeah, Luigi's better ) just to try and prove that Luigi is better, but i was always a few seconds off!
So instead i tried the World 1 Castle (just 4 the fun of it) and finished that in 56 seconds, can u beat that??
*(i really did, i just don't have a camera to record it..., what type of set-up did u use to record urs chronorox?) _________________

Thanks guys =)
The setup I used - Webcam on top of a tall glass, then me playing DS from behind it. It's pretty hard to hold the DS phat steady.
Hey dare, nice work. What kind of rules did you set yourself for the 1st castle? Because I can imagine bowser jr being really annoying. Did you go through as mini and use a fireflower?
How many lives - Probably about 60 recorded attempts with another 60 unrecorded? 83 lives at the start indicates it took 16 attempts from the the start of the session. It's pretty easy to make a small mistake that ruins the run; brushing a flame/thwomp, missing the edge of a switch etc. _________________ Resident Completionist.

G'work Chrono
And seeing you play Break the Targets like I have, I could understand you having a record. Fox ftw! _________________ Host on Australian gaming TV show Level 3

Well, well chronorox...
| Quote: | | What kind of rules did you set yourself for the 1st castle? Because I can imagine bowser jr being really annoying. Did you go through as mini and use a fireflower? |
The rules were:
- get from the start of the castle (where u face Bowser for the first time, not Bowser Jr.; i used your word, as in "NSMB final castle", but i probably should have said Fortress... anyway, the big structure at the end of every world where you face a Boss that isn't Bowser Jr.) to the end in the fastest time possible and defeat the Boss {aka Bowser in this case} (turning Bowser into Skele-Bowser).
- using only a mini-mushroom
Took a couple of tries, but i got it down packed, i especially liked the way i was able to make it past the spike ceiling at full pace, in only 2 go's!
Nice idea for a camera setup, although i don't own a webcam, but at least now it has sparked a few ideas
I'll c if i can find a way to film it, if u want... (chances of doing the exact same thing again = ALMOST ZERO; but i'll give it a go)
********
BTW; i would consider this thread as a kinda extension of the "gaming achievements" thread, but i'll let it slide (i.e. nice idea for a thread chronorox; hope u enjoy ur time on these forums as part of the Palgn community)

Cool vid, chrono!
I was thinking of doing a "fast run" through NSMB, but there doesn't seem to be an ingame way to time a full run, which makes all the warps a bit pointless :/ _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

Hey Dare, did you mean mini mario or small mario?
I got 52 seconds with small mario no items in a few minutes, but let me know if it was otherwise =)
And EvilHayama, there a few guys planning a full speed run through using external timing over at speeddemosarchive.com. Go check it out if you're interested. _________________ Resident Completionist.

As I said earlier:
| Quote: | | using only a mini-mushroom |
Thus it would be mini-Mario/Luigi, not just small Mario/Luigi
It's a bit harder seeing as Mini-Mario/Luigi floats a bit more after a jump as apposed to small Mario/Luigi...
& that site seems pretty interesting...
(although i got kinda annoyed that on this other 'speed-run' site, when someone was able to finish Road Runner's Death Valley Rally on SNES in record time; but i have never been able to finish the game at all! ) _________________

50 seconds as mini-mario 3rd go. I'm sure you can do better than that
Yeh I watched battletoads and TMNT today. They were crazy hard games and these guys dominated them. _________________ Resident Completionist.
