I went and saw X-Men 3, I quite liked it. There was some disappointment over how minor the roles some characters played (Juggernaut has no back story whatsoever) and I'm getting a little sick of Magneto being the main adversary all the time (it's not like the X-Men have a limited set of opponents to choose from here) but all in all, I thought it was quite well done and recommend it.

There was, however, one thing which really irked me and made me wonder how the Hell the film ever got out of the door. There is a scene where Wolverine is talking to Storm and Wolverine's close up shots are grainy, REALLY grainy, like they used 500 ASA film or something, it looks horrid and should never have happened.

I watched X3 last weekend, too. My wife actually liked it. I didn't though as I felt Scott (Cyclops) was underplayed in this movie (if not the entire series). Angel was underplayed, too. It's just a bit annoying that the original X-Men are like second-tier characters in the movie. Yeah, I'm a comic book geek.

Went to see The Break Up last night purely based on Vince Vaughn who has been hilarious throughout his whole career, most recently in Wedding Crashers. It had its moments, nothing extra special but a few great laughs in there. Aniston was bearable in the umpteenth Rachel role of her career. I guess without Vaughn this movie could have sucked, but with him as the leading man and Jon Favreau as his crazy friend it was well worth my time and money (oh wait, I actually saw it for free with Hoyts cash). Unless you're a fan of Vince (or Aniston) just wait for DVD.

if you kept reading, you would've seen that i said i haven't seen Half Baked.

it's not for want of trying, i just can't get access to a (legal) copy. maybe torrents is the way to go in this instance.

i just simply don't find his standup/sketch shows funny.

^ ah sorry my bad....I skimmed your post. Yea you're right there is no PAL version of Half Baked. I guess I got lucky when I first saw it (it was on HBO Movies on sky tv...which is NZ pay tv).

But if you know anything about weed...I would suggest you try and watch asap....cuz...well it's spot on!! I bought a copy off ebay for $20.

Some of his sketches are a bit tryhard but I just love him cuz he was in Half Baked. It's kinda like Michael Keaton....no matter how many crap roles he gets....he'll still be Batman!

My friend wants to go see the Break up, I told her I felt ill when she said it. I might be able to get out of it....it's weird cuz I really like Vince Vaughan and I wanna see it because of him but I really hate Jennifer Aniston so I don't wanna watch it because of her.

Watched Cars the other day. I'm a big fan of Pixar but this, if I was to rank all the movies, i would have to rank it last. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad movie, it's just not great. So the perfect Pixar collection ends.

The story was cliched. Pixar went low with a fart joke, and referencing Jay Leno. And having real songs hurt the spirit.

But still it is a class above every other animation movie, just not Pixar's. Let's hope their next movie, Ratatooee, is back up to standard. ***

Recently watched the Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift, and whilst it won't set any acting awards ablaze or anything like that, it was an enjoyable movie, with lots of cars, girls and driving, the way it should be.

Saw Cars yesterday with NaTe and another friend.

I thought it was good and kept the high quality that we've come to expect from Pixar. I don't know what it is with Pixar and 3D movies that makes it so unique but I certainly enjoy Pixar movies over Dreamworks who usually just try to cash in as they assemble good casts. *coughsharktalecough*

I love the Lightning McQueen catchphrase...Ca-Chow.

I'm seeing Tokyo Drift tomorrow night. As long as it has some good quality car scenes and skilled drifting (D1 style), I'll overlook the buckets of rice and people that appear in the said film (actors?).

Saw Cars today and quite enjoyed it. Pixar are always good at entertainment. I was pretty hooked to it by the 10th minute and by the end was quite satisfied with it. I recommend it, it's typical Pixar goodness icon_smile.gif

Over the past two weekends I've watched Doom, Jurassic Park, Superman II, Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, National Lampoon's Vacation, Death Race 2000, Mortal Kombat and Big Trouble in Little China. Most were okay, but the stuff I hadn't seen for a number of years has aged (terribly in the case of Superman II). I'll probably watch more movies before the game review season returns in September - I've got a ton of TV shows and other stuff I've been watching too, and the backlog is really extensive.

Just came back from watching Superman, great movie, felt way too long though. Especially in the end. Could have 1/2 the time in the end & still gotten the message though.

7/10 Cool the style of the intro title remains the same as the original superman films.

Pffft Matt what are you talking about. icon_razz.gif A Bugs Life was good go back to watching Mortal Kombat. icon_smile.gif

Saw Click last week as well. It starts out like any usual Sandler flick with the usual Sandler humour. But later actually has a real story and you really sympathise for the character. Its a good rollercoaster and definatly one of Sandlers better movies.

Today going out to go see Superman Returns. Hoping I can stay awake through it all. icon_razz.gif

Saw Tokyo Drift and loved it, a great action flick with cars and girls, just don't expect any depth from the story or actors and you should have a good time, esp. if you have yellow fever! Defiantly better than the second F&F movie and heavily influenced by Initial D which I also love!
