Hey anyone want to explain to me how this friend code/wifi thing works?! I haven't even bothered to read the manuals that came with my Ds Lite. The only games I have are Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, New Super Mario Bros and Children of Mana.

Is it a particular game that supports it? And how far away do you have to be from someone to be able to pick them up over the network?

Does it work lite the psp online (with psp you have to turn the lan switch on and then look for someone)? Or are you online the whole time kinda thing?

Sorry if this is heaps noob....i've never actually used Wifi before (well not that I know of anyways).

None of your games are Nintendo Wifi enabled, you won't be able to play them online. Only certain games, e.g Mario Kart DS and Metroid prime Hunters can be played online. These two games require friend codes for you to be able to play against your friends over the internet. Each game has it's own specialised friend codes, which the game gives to you once you connect to the Wifi connection for the first time. You can add friends by adding their friend codes, which can be shared easily. They are a 12 digit code which you enter into the game to add them. When they add yours to their game, you can challenge them, providing they are online, of course. You can play more than one friend at a time. You can also do standard online play by searching for opponents. In MPH you can add rivals through this mode as well. Hope this helps.

1 more question....is there a range for the wifi? Like would I be able to challenge you regadless of where you are when we are both online?

^Nope.As we speak people in japan are playing mario kart ds with people in america while people in england just got pwned playing hunters with people in australia.

Do keep in mind when you say 'range' you both must be within range of a wireless internet connection....

That's awesome! Yea I guessed you'd need a wireless net connection (which is pretty much available at work and at most cafe's/gloria jeans etc).

That's for sure!

Since I got MPH, I've been enjoying the Wifi service quite a lot, i was originally quite put off it by MKDS, but I like it again now. The fact that you can tell when your friends are online is a big improvement, one I had been hoping for. Messaging and Voice chat are great additions too.

Just updated everyone's friend codes again, whenever i see any of you online I just need to let everyone on here that I'm pretty crap at metroid prime hunters online and pretty much 8 out of 10 games I will get sliced, and currently my win ratio is 8% which means the other 92% is losses, so if anyone wants to get their stats up feel free to rub off your skills on me

Still just because I loose doesn't mean I don't have fun, I have fun everytime I play Online especially when someone kills me 7-0 (kidding i hate when that happens)

Yes Brendo I added you, it will show up that our friend codes are incorrect If we aren't online at the same time atleast once, don't worry we will cross paths in due time

Oh and just to let you know I'm upgrading my broadband in the next few days to WiFi so I can play anywhere in my house and not be limited to the Nintendo WiFi USB Connector's Range, so during the day I get WiFi installled I might not be online for that day or within the next few days while i configure everything like security and wep keys and all that
