Screen protectors are great (Get the Hori ones, they leave no residue), but they are very, very hard to put on without getting dust under them Luckily you can pull them back off easily and try again, but it still took me an hour of effort until it was perfect.

I heard many conflicting reports about Hori ones, some people claiming they were terrible. Plus the whole dust thing...

100% agree with you. Why get DS lite when your original DS is still functioning well. The smaller size & brightness doesn't justify the purchase at full price again.

Screen protector is a must for DS. Unless you don't use the touch screen feature at all.

The only time I used a screen protector for my old DS it got some dust underneath it and put a scratch on the screen.
(probably should have
A. Got a better protector or
B. Put it on better )
Since then I have never used one and the screen never got another mark on it. I'll probably stick to the naked screen on the DS Lite. _________________ CamDS

Ironic thing is the extra brightness on the Lite is wasted on me (good thing it's not mine), I have to use the screen at lowest and 2nd lowest brightness or my eyes start hurting (Yay for rare eye problems). Plus I've never had problems with my normal DS outside or in the dark
However the smaller formfactor lets it fit in my pocket that much better, which is always a good thing. I guess I'll upgrade mine when the black one makes an appearence down here.

Riiiiiiight, a "jpeg" of NSMB running on the PSP....
Anyway I got mine yesterday too and I'm very impressed. Nismo and myself tried multiplayer Metroid and Mario Kart over WiFi and both games played quite well over it. We did have some diconnections but otherwise both played nicely over WiFi. _________________

It is, I cropped the top half of this pic - http://dsmedia.ign.com/ds/image/article/706/706294/new-super-mario-bros-20060509020136183.jpg I thought it would be the best way to compare if I used a similar image on both machines.
Anyway, as far as I know the PSP can't even run DS games _________________

A lot of these disconnections were because I was playing in my room, which is quite a fair distance from the computer. When we were both sitting at the computer the WiFi connection between us worked a treat. Like Civ, I am very impressed with the WiFi service and obviously the handheld itself too. _________________

Don't forget the Psp has an extra brightness setting when plugged into the power outlet. I suppose it's not really gonna matter when you're on the go but it's notable.
The DS Lite is so slick it is an absolute steal at $180!! Seriously if I get any serious scratches or something on the screen i'm just gonna buy another one! It's so awesome!! Can't do that with the psp! _________________

Yeah, I'd forgotton about that when I did the review. I only just recently got a PSP again and that extra brightness setting slipped my mine. The DS Lite is still noticably brighter though. _________________

Yea the DS Lite's screen is awesome.....I can't believe how crisp and clear the touchscreen is!! I threw on Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and I was amazed at all the small details the DS Lite screen was showing as compared to the GBA Sp screen. _________________
