I hope you put one too many I's there, or you'll be waiting a looooong time
Grandia3 and Radiata Stories have arrived, I'm liking the art for Grandia so far, it's different to 1 & 2.

Dude, i just got home now!
OK, initial initial impressions:
2 DVDs, there's going to be a lotta CG here. Manual is nice, looks like a complex battle system (woo!)
Opening movie: Looks spoilerific, one of those "Cut all the CG together" deals. I looked away.
Opening song: AWFUL! Sounds like Avril Levignenge, who I both hate and can't spell.
There's the traditional grandia theme behind the opening page though.

After actually playing a dungeon it's pretty cool. There's a lot of cutscenes so far but it's only the start. The battle system is like the earlier grandia games, like a realtime Star-ocean system with turn-based stuff. You can cancel attacks if you use the right attack at the right time (including judging the distance to the enemy) So far it's a little tricky to judge that stuff.
Graphics are good, nice lighting, models and animations (and PS2 jaggies ) So far I've only been forced to listen to the avril impersonator twice, the other music is non-vocal.
Speaking of vocal, there are voices in major cutscenes, so far they don't suck much, so I don't hate any characters yet. The main two are both 16 so they're bound to act stupid later but Miranda is cool (kick-ass MILF XD)

...Sounding good so far, keep the impressions coming. ^___^
(Damn, I wish I had a modded/NTSC PS2 )
On a side note, I played my friends copy of Evergrace the other day and it was so horrible, it nealy made me cry. I suppose I could've expected it to not be perfect for being such an early game on the PS2. But still... If you haven't played it, avoid it like the plague! ......imo >_> _________________ •PESPY »»

The opening song to Grandia III didn't sound too bad in the JP version. I got TotA and KHII over GIII though, didn't have enough Yen for all three. _________________

More Grandia3/Radiata Stories impressions:
Up to 5 hours in Grandia now, still impressed. I now have a party of The Boy, The Bimbo, The MILF and The Stud. Some funny scenes and lots of battles happened in the last 2 hours.
Enemies are on the map, you can whack 'em and run past if you like.
Dungeons very linear, most of the interest is in the battles and the shiny graphics really, no real plot yet.
Bimbo and Boy are boring (typical for main characters -_-) but MILF and Stud have some character to them.
Only done a bit of Radiata Stories so far. Story is pretty funny, the main character is called Jack Russel, and acts like one (not boring! He must change later...)
Opening movie and game are more cartoony than G3, but no vocals in the song.
Initial plot stolen straight from Naruto, Jack=naruto, Ridley=Sasuke, Ganz=Kakashi. Speaking of Ridley, they changed her last name to Silverlake from Timberlake, thank god.
There's a whole thing about recruiting arseloads of people, but it doesn't seem to be available yet...
Fights are realtime spazzfests so far, I hope it gets more interesting than that later :-/
Edit: oops, forgot the best bit! You can kick anything. Furniture, chickens, people... Endless fun
That's the basics, should give you an idea of what they're like (at the start anyway)

Was just looking at a release schedule, noticed this little nugget;
April 13: Dragon Quest: The Journey of the Cursed King.
RRP is $99.95, but eh, should be able to get it cheaper if you look harder. _________________ Retro Gaming Australia

I'd count 3 for Gamecube. Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia and Paper Mario. Then there's your DC port of Skies of Arcadia. But Baten Kaitos II is coming soon and it looks fanastic, to me at least. But I don't count on my Gamecube for RPGs anyway, that is what my trusty PS2 is for. _________________ •PESPY »»

I know there's a boxart thread here, but this is RPG related... So hey, I posted it in both topics. Of course expect an english subtitle "Journey of the Cursed King". >____>

I agree, the art style is stupid. But many people enjoy his style and will buy the game on that basis alone. I can look pass the graphics, since this (Dragon Quest 8) is suppose to be an incredible experience.

So Radiata Stories is out? How did I miss that?
Has anyone played Magna Carta? I have seen mixed reviews about it. _________________

Radiata stories has been out in the US for a while now, nothing PAL yet. I understand Magna Carta has a decent story, a weak system a cool art. I bought the artbook, but I think I'll skip the game ^_^ _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

I just surpassed 80 hours on Tales of the Abyss, I'll probably start a New Game+ but only after I have enough Grade to purchase more options when starting over. _________________

Will Tales of the Abyss have a PAL release? I am embarassed to admit that I have never heard of it. I didn't get on the Tales bandwagon until Tales of Symphonia. _________________

Tales of Phantasia - 1994 (SNES), not sure if this one got outside Japan
Tales of Destiny - 1997 (PSX), made it to the US in 1998, no PAL release.
Tales of Phantasia - 1998 (PSX), I don't think this version made it to the US
Tales of Eternia - 2000 (PSX), released in the US in 2001 as Tales of Destiny II. Re-released on PSP in 2005.
Tales of Destiny 2 - 2002 (PS2), Japan only
Tales of Symphonia - 2003 (PS2/GCN), 2004 in US/PAL
Tales of Phantasia - 2003 (GBA), this one made it to the US in early 2006, is being released to PAL regions in April.
Tales of Rebirth - 2004 (PS2), possible US launch, otherwise Japan only.
Tales of Legendia - 2005 (PS2), US launched in 2006. This was released while I was staying in Japan
Tales of the Abyss - 2005 (PS2), US release possible.
Tales of the Tempest - 2006/7 (DS), work in progress.
I think that's it, i've only played two out of that list, Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss, although I have seen the other games in action in one way or another.
I think Namco said at one point that US/PAL audiences were uninterested in the "older" sprite based Tales Of games, preferring to release the 3D games to the US market. Same reason none of the Super Robot Wars games will ever get released outside Japan (All sprite based). _________________
