It indeed looks awesome.
I was addicted to Civ II back when I was a lot younger (gotta love the sound effects ripped straight out of monty Python). I fear for my own time should I buy this game, which I most definately will, though perhaps not when there's already so much to play. _________________

Obviously, as read in the article, you can play as certain countries such as China and India, right? But what happens for the Oceania regions? I'd like to play as Aust. but isn't there only limited choices of nations and leaders or something?
I'm like you Cerebral. I deliberately stay clear of the most addictive games because I know my work, studies, and sanity will pay dearly if falling for it.

Wow, this game looks absolutely fantastic.
I actually used to play Civ I when i was ALOT younger but never played Civ II and instead skipped straight to III which I managed to get completely addicted to for several weeks.
I don't plan on getting Civ IV anytime soon though, just recently purchased Dawn of War + WA and I am currently addicted to that, although Civ IV is definetly a must get for me as soon as the price drops a bit. _________________

Wouldn't make sense since Civ relies on historic events, and since most Oceania regions didn't achieve any sorts of historic achievements through time I don't see the point. And each of the nation's leaders are historic icons, and I honestly couldn't see many people filling the shoes of Australia or Indonesia, and seeing as though neither of these countries explored the old world for land, I don't see the point.
There are 13 nations in total anyway, all of which cover the leading nations during the old world.
