Seriously, Factor 5 should have written clearly on the package "For die-hard Star Wars fans only!"
I got upto Mission 5 (Prisoners of Maw?) and I came to the conclusion that
Rogue is just no fun to play. All you do is find stuff and shoot it... over and over and over...
Sure, the graphics rock (except for the framerate) and the Sound is okay but the gameplay is so damn boring.
Can anyone come up with a reason NOT to take Rogue back?
Does it get better or should I discontinue use incase of severe boredom? _________________
If your not a star wars fan, take it back for sure. Its kinda like not being in to Nintendo and getting SSBM. Without a love of the licence it gets old quick.
Before you do though, go to gamefaqs.com and put in the codes. The best mission IMO is the triumph of the Empire. Very Cool.
If I didnt get a total kick out of reliving the Star Wars scenes from the movie, Id feel the same way. Cause when you take away the Star Wars magic, you are left with a very average rail shooter that is more uneccessarily hard and disorientating than fun. For fans only.

But all games are the same. In SMB all you do is roll around a platform and try to get to the goal. In Waverace all you do is drive on water. In Luigi's Mansion all you do is suck up ghosts, get the key and repeat the process.
I guess if you're just not enjoying the game, take it back. Get Sonic 2, which I got today. 8) _________________

Does that really hold true for all games? I wouldn't say it's so for Perfect Dark, and games like that ... but mostly, you're right. Kind of ... disappointing
But there's more to it than that, of course. All these people wouldn't like Melee if it was 'just' 2D fighting. _________________
I bet you someone ends up posting a "SSBM is so damn boring" thread. Cause really, both SSBM and Rogue Squadron 2 were designed for fans. Smash Bros will grow very old very quickly for people who dont know there Kirby from their Pikachu. Its a niche game, just like Rogue Squadron. Collecting trophies or unlocking new characters will be as interesting as getting a gold medal or unlocking Slave 1 in Rogue if your not a franchise fanboy.
I was at EB returning Blue Storm (again MrCivic I apologize) while a guy beside me was returning RS2. I looked at him in amazment.
"Dont you like RS2?'"
"Yeah, but I finished it"
"Already?... (ie you used cheat modes and played the 1st 5 minutes of each level)"
"yes"
"What are you getting instead?"
"Simpsons Road Rage"
"Really. Well I'll see you here this time next week then"
"???....."
The moral of the story is-
'One man's licenced piece of shit is another man's gaming heaven'.
This is the NINTENDO board after all, and if any one of you can't tell a Kirby from a Pikachu then you desevrve to have your face rammed into a brick wall at 120kph.
I took Rogue back for an extra controller. Does that make me a retard? _________________

I dont think Craptest was suggesting you're a retard for returning the game, he was just sticking up for RS2, and pointing out how franchise love (be it for Star Wars, Nintendo or Simpsons) can blind a gamer to a reality shared by 'non lovers'. I love Star Wars, so for me RS2 will never get boring. I'll always pick it up for the X-Wing every now and then. I also know Pikachu from Kirby (I hate the former and love the latter) so SSBM will be heaven for this puppy.
