Maybe everyone traded in a PSP and five (racing) games for a GBA and Pokemon?

Hah, yeah I don't see how racing can be that popular. It must get repetitive.
Edit: I do play racing games but not heaps a lot of them are the same. I like the twist of burnout, will have to get one one day.
Obviously most people don't like paying ps2 and Xbox's high prices. I mean cricket 2005? gee whizz. _________________

There just hasn't been a hit game. They still sell the most games, I'm sure, but no one game sells well eneough to get into the top ten.
The PSP games are selling simply because everyone who just bought a system has to buy a game. The GBA games are selling because it's birthday season (nine months after christmas....wink wink).
I wonder how many of the GBA sales are played on DSes? We'll see how Nintendogs goes next week, anyway!
EDIT: The PSP sales are kinds sad really, aren't they. Still no Lumines, even in just the PSP top ten, Burnout is below three vastly inferiour racers, and even Ridge Racer and wipeout are way down compared to bloody NFS. Metal Gear Acid has dissapeared - so much for that being a killer app. It's almost the worse a game is, the better it sells.

Umm... anyone consider rampant piracy and that the GBA games are selling for little kiddies?
Still, it will be very interesting to see what Nintendogs can do _________________

Hardly would affect the sales that badly. Piracy can come in the form of GBA games also, so I hardly see that as a problem - although GBA piracy is much harder to produce compared to Xbox and PS2, but it still can be done easily.
It's good to see the GBA is still going strong though, considering that the NDS is also out. Increase in NDS console sales in Australia also, which are good signs for Nintendo Australia for once.
I'd be interested to see the reaction of the Micro overhere though. I mean the console has already marked itself as a superb seller in Japan - surpassing first day Japanese sales compared to the GBASP, which is very surprising with the DS also out.

It's a different thing though - you can burn console games yourself (or in Xbox case, just put on the hard drive) if you have a mod chip, but GBA games need to be manufactured. I'm not sure I know of anyone with a non-modded Xbox - it's taken the PS1's mantle as the DIY pirate's machine of choice.
But I know what you mean. 75% of GBA games on Ebay are Hong Kong pirated, I can't believe it happens. Ebay drops an item if you mention the words 'mod chip' or 'boot disc', even though some boot discs are perfectlly legal. But they let obviously pirated GBA games sell in the thousands. It's infuriating.

How do you know that? Are there hardware sales charts somewhere?

I would dare say the top 10 will change again next week now due to Burnout and Fahrenheit's releases. _________________

Most of those GBA games were in Kmarts catalogue last week. _________________ I am KickyFunkFresh. Those who are not KickyFunkFresh, are not kicky, nor funky nor fresh.

Not hardware sales, just what i've seen and heard. I was talking to my friend at the EB in the city the other day and he told me the DS sales had increase in a pretty high % over the past couple of months, despite the release of the PSP. And the K-Mart I work at I asked the manager if it was possible to gather a % increase for the DS and that had shown a fairly impressive increase also (couldn't show me value prices though, doubt I could work out the units in the sales figures though since each store puts a mark-up on their products). And while not being able to get exact numbers, I asked a few other stores around the place and they mentioned that while the PSP sales were going strong, the DS, on average, still had an increase despite the launch.
While I keep speak for all Australia, the guy I know at the EB in the city is pretty trust worthly, and same goes for the manager at my work. But the general perspection was that the DS was still selling strong despite the PSP's release. I would suspect that to change once GTA is launched though.
And in other news, Nintendogs is out so that might play a role on the charts next week. Nintendo have been advertising that quite hard over the past two weeks, which is a bit of a surprise.

Hehe....... No never crossed my mind *wishs he owned a dvd burner* If only there was places I knew about here that sold pirated games.
Burnout Revenge looks like it should sell well. Don't know anything about the other. _________________
