Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness on the way

PSP News | Portable RPG due for release in December.
Koei has announced today that it will release Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for the PSP in December. The game is sort of an enhanced port of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, released for the PlayStation 2 last year.

"When a game can literally swallow up over 100 joyous hours of your life then there’s nothing better than being able to keep your tactical fires burning while on the go. Disgaea’s move to PSP is the perfect solution for gamers who can’t wait to see what crazy twist is coming next, who are itching to try out their latest battle plan or just can’t get enough of those irresistible prinnies" said Will Curley, Sales Manager for KOEI Ltd.

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness has a number of distinct differences from the original game. Players will take on the role of Etna in the story mode, giving them a different perspective on the game's story. Finish the game's Etna mode, and you'll unlock a new ending. The game also features a new 16:9 perspective, enhanced for the PSP, and an ad-hoc multiplayer mode for two player tactical battles.

Expect to see Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness on shelves on December 6.

Nice, I'll be picking this up. A genre the PSP excels at.

I really should've picked this up when I purchased Manhunt 2 last week *bangs his head*

Being a fan of the Disgaea series, makes me wish I had a PSP. Disgaea being a Nippon Ichi game, means it will likely sell out quickly and not be rereleased. icon_sad.gif

A word from someone who has a copy: Don't miss out! This game reignited my love for Disgaea, soo addictive, almost more than ever since it's now portable. The new Etna mode is very good, and quite challenging, a fair bit harder that the original story. A must buy for Nippon Ichi and SRPG fans.

Alternatively, you could import the US version of the game right now, save yourself some money, and get it before December, as the PSP is unregioned and the game came out a few weeks ago.
