PaRappa The Rapper heading for PAL PSPs

PSP News | "I gotta believe!"
It's been confirmed that the PSP port of the original PaRappa The Rapper will be making its way over to North America and PAL regions, just over ten years after the rhythm game first appeared on the PlayStation. PaRappa's unique graphic design, oddball soundtrack and bizarre plot (not to mention PaRappa himself, a rapping dog in an orange beanie) earned the title a cult following upon release.

The PSP version, which was released in Japan last December, features all the characters, levels and songs from the original, which means a return for Sunny Funny, Chop Chop Master Onion, Instructor Mooselini, Prince Fleaswallow, and MC King Kong Mushi, among others. It also includes the ability for up to four PSP systems to go head-to-head in ad-hoc battles, and lets players download eight additional playable remixes to rap along to.

"Bringing PaRappa The Rapper to PSP allows true PlayStation fans to re-connect with this timeless classic," freestyled Senior Marketing Manager at Sony America John Koller, possibly while wearing his cap backwards. "This also introduces the beloved PaRappa and his cast of colorful friends to a new generation of fans and potential hip-hop stars on the move."

Nice. Peruse the Media Panel for eight shots of the game in action.

Too awesome for words! It'll look nice and sharp on the Psp screen and those downloadable extras and adhoc connectivity sound awesome.

Man, I haven't played PaRappa since... well, before I owned my own PSX. We had so much fun just playing the demo of that game. As much as people complain about ports (me included), sometimes they are the right thing to do icon_smile.gif

i am definitely gonna get this one, I hope it has more to it than just a straigh tport though, the only problem with the original was that it was too short. still fun though, I wonder if um jammer lammy is going to come out too? although i never got to play that one, im sure they both would fit on the same disc.
