M.A.C.H announced

PSP News | Billed as the PSP's first aerial combat racing title.
Vivendi has announced the development of M.A.C.H (Modified Air Combat Heroes) for the PSP via a press release. The game will be the first flight combat / racing game available for the PSP and will be exclusive to Sony's handheld.

According to Vivendi, M.A.C.H is "set in the year 2049, when the governments of the world switched to unmanned aircraft for combat in an attempt to save lives. By doing so, they decommissioned thousands of jets and their fighter pilots, ironically destroying the livelihood of those they were trying to save. Years later, these planes appeared on the black market and were sold to the highest bidders. It wasn’t long before an underground emerged, featuring ex-fighter pilots, smugglers and wealthy hobbyists piloting the decommissioned aircraft. In a competition of fight and flight, these pilots heavily modify their jet fighters to outrace and out duel the competition to win fame, glory and fortune." It all sounds a bit like Stealth the movie with some extra enhancements.

The game will include 180 possible configurations across 11 planes. The game will include an arcade mode, career mode and a challenge option, as well as multiplayer support for up to eight players. Best of all, you'll only require one copy of M.A.C.H to participate in the multiplayer mode.

We'll keep you updated on this, and the first images for the game can be found in our Media Panel.

That actually looks, and sounds, like it could be pretty fun. Although for a game that uses vehicle customization as part of the 'story' it doesn't seem like you'll be able to do a great deal of modifications to the jets. 180 different combinations? Not much in all reality - could be done with a handful of different weapons packs for each plane.

The armored core customization fan in me is not impressed, but the arcadey flight combat fan is icon_smile.gif
