More Final Fantasy Tactics on the way

PSP News | Squenix commit to two more.
If the latest reports from Jump Magazine are to be believed, gamers can expect to revisit the troubled world of Ivalice, with Square Enix announcing two new entries in the Final Fantasy Tactics series.

The first title, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War, will be an enhanced port of the original PSOne title for the PSP. For the remake, the game will include all-new cel-shaded movie sequences and a healthy range of new job classes – though some cleaner graphics wouldn’t hurt, mind you. The title is apparently developed as part of Squenix’s “Ivalice Alliance”, which already includes the DS title Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

In addition, Square also revealed the development of another title in the Tactics series, entitled Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire. Unfortunately no details have been announced, not even the game’s intended console; although we could only imagine that it’ll be a sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, on either the GBA or DS.

Japan is holding the annual Jump Festa Show (which heavily focuses on comics and video games) this weekend in Tokyo, with Square Enix preparing to unveil more on its future projects, so we hope to hear more on both titles then. Stay tuned this weekend to see if anything important pops up.

I keep hearing how awesome the original FFT was, but have never played it. Can we assume this is a DS release?

Looks like it's a PSP release considering it's in the PSP section. Does it look to anyone else that Square Enix is slowly jumping boat back to Nintendo?

Ah, didn't notice the header. Well, that'll be 2 reasons why I'd get a PSP then.

The remake is for PSP and has extra bits (Hopefully a better translation!) But the other one seems like a sequel to FFT Advance. Hopefully that one's for DS, and a bit more challenging than FFTA.

I'll be getting both.

FFTA was my favourite game on the GBA.

^ Yeah, indeed very good game the FFTA is.

Sweet, I'm gonna start playing FF12 anyways, get this when it comes out, learn abitmore about the Stories & the connection between the 3.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the translation getting significantly better, after all besides importing this would be the first time we're seeing Ramza's story so people wouldn't know any better.

Yes, I've noticed that too. FFXII on DS has my interest, for sure. Tactics is a great series.
