Portable Pictures for Pirates!

PSP News | RDRR.
For some reason, another version of the classic adventure/RPG game Sid Meier's Pirates! is coming to the PSP early next year. The motivation for porting a 2 year old game (previously seen on the Xbox and PC) to a handheld units isn't really known - but in any case it's surely a good thing, because Pirates! was a stellar title on the PC.

We also reported a while back that Pirates! may in fact be coming to the Nintendo DS. Nothing eventuated from this rumour, but in actual fact Pirates would be a better fit for the DS, given the added benefit of touch-screen control for navigating around the high seas. Regardless of platform, it would be in the best interest of anyone who hasn't played the original game to give it a try. Pirates! is a unique blend of strategy, RPG and adventure which met with universal acclaim upon the PC release in 2004.

No word yet on any extras which may be included with the PSP version, but for now we have four swashbuckling screens for your perusal in the Media Panel.

I hope I didn't play this too much on the PC to not care about this port. I'd love portables Pirates.
