The Sims 2 Pets revealed

PSP News | Furry and fluffy.
EA has announced that a PC expansion pack called The Sims 2: Pets is in development. The game will also be a standalone game for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, PSP, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance, whilst it seems that the Xbox 360 and Xbox have been ignored with this title.

The game will include dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds and supposedly even more. It's also possible to create your own pet. Your Sims will be able to train the pets to perform tricks, and you'll need to feed them so you don't get a visit from the grim reaper. The console versions of the game will let you take your pet out and about, and you can even pick new accessories and clothing for your pets. If you own a DS, then you can manage your own Pet Care Centre, so it seems like fans of The Sims 2 may have to pick up multiple copies of the game; convenient eh?
