The box art confirms the presence of two characters from the PS2 Vice City; Big Mitch Baker and Umberto Robina. Both of these characters delegated missions to Tommy Vercetti, the playable character in the PS2 title. Much like in GTA III, Tony Cipriani was a mission man for the anonymous lead, and in Liberty City Stories became the playable character. It is still unknown if either Baker or Robina will be the lead, yet they will certainly make a prominent appearance.
All of the PSP/PS2/Vice/Liberty references and intertwining stories get a tad heavy, but here are the cold hard facts - Vice City Stories will be released in the US on October 20, and speculating from the original release dates announced by Rockstar at E3, only slightly changed this time around, the PAL release will come very shortly after.
Rockstar also mentioned that the price for Vice City Stories in the US will be $49.99, the standard full price for a new release PS2 or XBox title. Given standard game conversion rates, this could mean up to a full $100 in Australia, by far the most expensive PSP title to date. However, given the successful sales of the budget PS2 Liberty City Stories port, we will almost certainly see a PS2 Vice City Stories release somewhere down the line - and probably at a cheaper price than the PSP version.
Those interested in the upcoming title have no shortage of roads back into Vice City!
