New Metal Gear Solid game for PSP
PSP News | And this time, it's a real one!

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima's made a surprise announcement in his latest Podcast - he is currently working on a new Metal Gear Solid game for PSP. So what, you say, there are already two on Sony's handheld. Well, unlike the Metal Gear Acid card-battling games, this one will be a proper action based Metal Gear game, featuring a canonical (and most likely confusing) storyline. He promised that the game will look and sound just as good as it's PS2 brethren, even though the polygon counts will be lower. It will also feature some new gameplay twists - apparently you will control a group of troops?
Set in 1970 soon after Metal Gear Solid 3, the game will again star Big Boss. The plot apparently concerns the formation of FOXHOUND, and will act as a bridge between the story of Metal Gear Solid 3 and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4. If you know Japanese or just feel adventurous, here's a link to Kojima's podcast. We're not sure if it will be shown at E3, but Metal Gear Solid for PSP is due Q3 2007.
