GTA: Liberty City Stories game demonstration

PSP Video Feature | We like our motor bike.
We’ve teamed up with the guys from The Gaming Show to bring you a number of game demonstration videos. These videos show us playing a game and talking about it at the same time, with the idea of giving you the same experience as if you were watching someone demo the game at a gaming event.

This video is of Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories. Released in early December on PSP, it received a stunning 9/10 from us here at PALGN.

The video demonstrates motor biking, motor biking, failing a mission, killing people and more motor biking.

High Res (86MB)
Low Res (26MB) – Suitable for video iPods

Check back tomorrow when we demonstrate Lumines on the PSP.

Find a new name. "Game demonstration" sounds rubbish. Otherwise, it's good.

(no I haven't got as far as thinking of suggestions, but i'll start now icon_wink.gif )

5-10min long. The Burnout one looked fine for the low-res, but this one looks horrible. I guess that's due to the difficulty in capturing off the PSP, or just that the PSP has horrible graphics.

I think these things need more structure too. It seems very random and lacking in guidance. Perhaps if you stopped before recording it, wrote down what you wanted to show off, and perhaps record the commentary at a different time. At stages it seems like the person commentating gets distracted with the game. You'll find with IGN and Gamespot video features they'll record the commentary over the top so it's really speaking to a video track. I feel that gives you a better opportunity to talk about whatever you want rather than being distracted by trying to do something in the game at the time.

Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just trying to offer advice icon_smile.gif

Hey Spanca,

Thanks for the advice, the reason this one doesn't look that good is because it is rather difficult to record the PSP. Also this was Michaels first go at this, he, I mean, we, will get better.

Regarding your idea about the commentary, it can become quite difficult and time comsuming to do videos like that, we tried a couple, but it would talk way to long to record the video, edit, record audio, add in audio, compress to different files sizes, etc. The other reason is because we wanted to do something different.

But hang in there we will get better.

I totally understand what you're trying to do and that you're just starting out. You've done well so far and I'm just hoping to see you guys improve it further.

I'd be good if PALGN did it once a month but itstead it being for about 30+ mins,

and try putting it into a .zip file it should bring the file size down.

Well I finally watched them and they were definitely quite cool. Of course I already knew what Burnout Revenge was about and so on because I own it and have finished it, but it was still good to see how someone else played the game and also to see their perspective of it. Laughed at the crash scenario as well as in a few other parts, such as when the game glitched. I must also say that while yes Traffic Checking becomes second nature, Burnout 3 still remains the better game. There is just a few setbacks with Revenge such as the glitching which makes it fall behind it's predecessor, but hey, they are both rocking games anyway so who cares?

As for the GTA demonstration, that was quite enjoyable to me because it was pretty much the first time I have seen a PSP running a game. Damn it does alright doesn't it? As was mentioned in the video, no loading times were apparent and the graphics certainly kept up with what was happening at the time. That was definitely an amazing site to finally see for me, but graphics aren't everything. It was great hearing the radio stations, hearing the famous car sounds we all know and love and so on. Infact, there isn't much else I can say other than that it was typical GTA, only for a handheld.
Can't wait for more of these demonstrations, they are quite awesome. Nice work guys.
