Games based on new IP for the PSP haven't exactly been plentiful, but that's about to change after Ubisoft and Taito announced today that they'll be joining forces for a licensing deal, whereby Ubisoft will publish and distribute three of Taito's titles in European and North American territories during 2006.
The first of these games is Exit, a unique puzzle game that looks to have a bit in common with the old Taito classic Elevator Action.
"Exit's unique graphics and fluid style make this yet another innovative puzzle game in Ubisoft's arsenal," said Jay Cohen, vice president of publishing at Ubisoft. "Ubisoft is excited to be bringing three of the industry's most innovative titles to gamers this year."
Players take on the role of Mr ESC, an escape expert who can rescue anyone from any situation. You must guide Mr ESC through various obstacles while rescuing hapless innocents from life-threatening situations, such as fires and earthquakes. There's over 100 emergencies available in the game, and Ubi Soft plans to offer additional levels to download (Taito is supposed to be releasing levels each week in Japan - Ed).
Exit is currently set for release in February, which is when you can expect the game to get the full PALGN review treatment.
