PSP Photos

PSP Feature | It's a bird? It's a plane? No! It's a PSP! Erm, yes.
PALGN has collated thirteen images of our PSP. There are three images which outline the Ridge Racer box, as well as images of our US PSP Value Pack - all for your convenance.

In the coming weeks we're going to be running a lot of various tidbits on the PSP, including hands on previews with some of the biggest PSP titles. Best of all, we've even lined up an interview with Sony Australia!

Those purchasing their PSP on September 1 can expect to get the same things in this pack, and are able to mail away for a Spiderman 2 UMD. Stay tuned, it's going to be a big month.

I went in to EB today to put a deposit on a preorder for the PSP and while the friendly sales dude there was processing some trade ins for me, he let me have a go of the PSP they had in store and I have to say: WOW, IT BLEW ME AWAY icon_biggrin.gif

I was playing Ridge Racer and I swear it felt like any other (decent) PS2 game out there!!! It was much lighter than I expected and the sales dude told me that Sony made it so it was the same weight as the PS2 controller and indeed it felt like it. The screen was really clear and bright and the analog stick was just as responsive (IMHO) as the PS2 analog stick. I thought it would be difficult to play on considering its design, but if you hold it right (just like with the GBA SP and DS) you won't get sore hands or thumbs.

I can't wait till I get my own PSP regardless of the price (I'm not the kind of person to wait till something gets cheaper anyway).

The Sony PSP forum over the past few months have filled with newbies asking questions (sure not a bad thing)..but the worst thing..was when they were all making topics and posting in topics saying that Sony should drop the price down..and now that the price has officially gone down to $399 they've finally stopped icon_smile.gif

I may get a PSP, depending on what firmware version the PSP is released in PAL with..I want to be able to run emulators, homebrew apps etc. with them working perfectly.

I want to do the same thing too, but somehow I think that Sony would probably release the PSP with the latest firmware version, which is currently v. 1.5. I'm not sure v. 1.5 has been cracked to run emulators and homebrew software yet, but someone will figure it out soon enough icon_razz.gif.

EDIT:
Apparently v.1.5 has been cracked but only recently, I think I'll do a bit more research though, there seems to be differing information on this issue right now.
