There have been many attempts to replicate the violence of Grand Theft Auto, but none have quite managed to be anywhere near as good - including Rockstar's own State of Emergency. The PSP title Infected looks more like the latter.
The story is simple - a virus has taken over New York on Christmas, turning them insanely violent, as is always the way with these things.
You take control of rookie cop, Stevens. He's immune to the virus, thankfully. The Dr. Schaeffer discovers that Steven's blood is immune to the virus, and can be used to actually kill it - useful, because the virus is otherwise unkillable. With the help of a Schaeffer built 'viral gun' - a nice piece of kit which shoots shells containing Stevens' blood - Stevens can eliminate the pesky zombies.
The game looks like a third person shooter, with the emphasis on mayhem and killing as many zombies as possible. Multiple players are supported, with deathmatch and team deathmatch modes. Clans will also be able to be made, should the game turn out to be decent.
The game looks set for a release alte this year. In the meantime, have a look at the screenshots in the media panel.
