Dissidia duodecim prologus Final Fantasy announced and dated

PSP News | OK, now they're just making up words.

Square-Enix sent out a press release today announcing a new title in their Dissidia Final Fantasy series. Its name is Dissidia duodecim prologus Final Fantasy, and it serves as a prologue for Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy, which is itself a prequel for the original Dissidia Final Fantasy on PSP.

The game will be distributed as a PSN exclusive, and features an all-new story centering around Lightning as part of its Story Mode. Players can also access an Arcade Mode for quick battles.

More interestingly, punters will also be able to carry over items gained in this prologue into the upcoming Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy. In addition, for Final Fantasy VII fans, purchasing Dissidia duodecim prologus Final Fantasy will unlock Aerith, a character from that game, as an assist character in Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy.

Dissidia duodecim prologus Final Fantasy is due for release on the PSN on 26 March 2011.
