Australia gets PSPgo price drop

PSP News | Will you go for it now?
Sony Computer Entertainment Australia announced today that the PSP go will be receiving a price drop in our country, following similar announcements around the world.

The PSPgo will retail for AU $249.95 from 1 November onwards. Their free game promotion is still running as well, and will continue until 31 January 2011. That means that every PSPgo allows its purchaser to download ten free games, including LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

The price drop raises speculation about a successor to the PSP, although nothing official has been announced yet.

Good price, but I'm not keen on losing my UMDs.

Price drop, ten free games—this thing must be selling miserably.

How low would they have to go before people were interested?

I reckon even at $100 I'd still prefer to buy a PS3 game.

Since I already own a PSP, I doubt I'd pick one up for anything under 20 bucks. If I broke my PSP and had to buy a new one... honestly I think I'd still prefer to get an old PSP that takes UMD's.

Yeah that was a good price. I certainly wouldn't have paid anymore for it though.

I actually have an original PSP-1000 but I'm unable to update it for certain reasons and take advantage of a few of its features... I can't believe it but I'm actually considering this, particularly seeing as it comes with 10 free games, none of which I already have.

Oh OOOOOOOOOOOH!

I thought we we're talking about how much he got a lap dance for.

Never mind me...

Thats what I was thinking too haha

But yeah I will never buy one of these, I can't stand DD. PSPGo definitely should have kept the UMD ;_;

Nope.

Price drop = PSP2 release imminent.

I may get one; never had a PSP and there are a few exclusives I've always wanted to play. Also, having PS1 games and all the free things that I get from Playstation Plus make it worthwhile.
Will wait on the Christmas specials though.

No.

$199 would be the sweet spot, if I needed another handheld.

If anyone does consider buying one now its worth checking the playstation store to see what games are available. The choice is limited and not priced that well.

Not worth it. This doesn't even make me feel bad spending $280 on the LBP PSP a few months ago!.

Go! still feels backwards for me. Sure it comes with $100 worth of games BUT it is still cheaper to get UMD of the game. PSP Essential retails here for $15 not sale price or online. Sure it doesn't come with large storage but then the cost of UMD games and the games library advantages certainly outweighs lack of storage.

I just hope the PSP2 is backwards compatiable with everything PSP.

i already have a PSP and its fine...
