The PSP remake of the original Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is due for an English language release next month in the States but the latest edition of the Famitsu magazine has unveiled yet another new Persona video game for the PSP. Persona 3 Portable is, as the name clearly suggests, the PSP version of Persona 3 but it will not be a straight port. The game will include a new female protagonist in addition to the original male lead, thus giving fans the chance to experience the main quest from two completely different perspectives.
This isn’t the first time Atlus has tried this in a Persona game. Persona 2 was actually a two game series in Japan. One game featured a male protagonist while the other featured a female protagonist. Persona 3 Portable will be released in Japan on 1 November 2009. No plans for an English language release at the moment but seeing how these games have become so popular and successful outside of Japan, an English language release for this new Persona game is more likely to happen than not.
