PixelJunk Monsters getting ported to PSP

PSP News | Invading a PSP near you.
According to an earlier report by Joystiq, Q Games' excellent take on the tower defense genre, PixelJunk Monsters will be ported to the PlayStation Portable.

Q Games founder Dylan Cuthbert appeared on a recent Spike TV segment to break the news, informing gamers that the handheld version of the title will include extra content than that found in the original PlayStation Network game.

"We got a lot of requests from fan mail and stuff saying they really wanted a PSP-native version [of PixelJunk Monsters]," stated Cuthbert. "We thought, rather than just port it directly, let's add a bit more."

PixelJunk Monsters PSP debut is set for sometime in 2009.

Just the other day when I was playing PJM, I thought to myself that this kind of game would be great for the PSP. Short missions, addictive gameplay, simple but aesthetically pleasing visuals and easy/accessible controls that will translate great on the PSP. This is a definite buy for me, it's one of the best games of the year.
