The demo will feature three different gameplay modes including Carnage Race, Deathmatch Derby and Ragdoll Stunts. Carnage Race has players trying to cause as much damage as possible to their surroundings and opponents before time runs out. Deathmatch Derby places you in an arena with the objective of destroying your opponents and ultimately, be the last person standing. Finally, as its name suggests, Ragdoll Stunts allows you to perform a number of daredevil acts, with the demo featuring a stunt known as the High Jump. The stunt requires you to drive your car down a ramp as fast as possible, then launch your driver through the windscreen and into a metal net.
Empire Interactive have also confirmed that the demo will be unlimited however, you will be unable to save your progress and there will be no unlockable features. The demo will be available to download from the official UK PlayStation and Empire Interactive websites. The full version of FlatOut: Head On is expected to be released in March.
“This is a great way for us to showcase FlatOut Head On to PSP gamers”, said Sean Walsh, Empire Interactive Product Manager. “PSP enthusiasts can often be heard talking on forums and blogs about the lack of good demos available for their beloved handheld. We wanted to help satisfy that need, and by giving them a taste of some of the featured modes - Carnage, Deathmatch Derby and Ragdoll Stunts – we think that it’ll really whet their appetite for destruction.”
