Re: Eating one kilogram of potato chips - consequences? (2 years ago)
According to this 1oz of chips is about 200mg of salt, so 1kg of chips = 35.3 oz or 7.08 g of salt.
http://www.annecollins.com/sodium_diet/sodium-potato-chips.htm
The RDI for an adult is 0.9 to 2.3g of salt.
http://www.healthyeatingclub.org/info/books-phds/books/foodfacts/html/data/data5a.html
So ... 3-4 times RDI
A burger with lg fries looks to be around 1.5g, so it doesn't look like it will be lethal

we should try and get a crew together to buy a case of games when something new/popular comes out and get a bulk discount, but I'm not sure where we'd buy in volume from.
Another gotchya is that you often have to put an order in before release (to guarantee stock), if it's a dud game people obviously won't want to buy it and you sell at a loss.
Re: Rock Band 3 goes Pro (2 years ago)
I like the idea of getting a Squier too, please be sure to post here with any retailers you find (maybe could get a bulk purchase discount if there's enough of us?). I've contacted a few guitar shops but have had no reply.
Re: Rock Band 3 goes Pro (2 years ago)
Sadly it looks like RB is going to have another dud Australian release.
Game is only stocking the game. And EB isn't selling bundles, so a Keyboard + game is going to cost you $237 ($138 + $99).
I suspect I'll just be importing the game only when the price drops, which is a shame because the keyboard looked fun and I like the RB experience better than GH

Re: Fifteen tracks unveiled for The Beatles: Rock Band (3 years ago)
Is the Australian release date still the 9/9?
EB Games says TBC

What is it with the Rock Band franchise and Australia?
No RB2 to be seen and I'm still waiting for a date for Rock Band Unplugged

There is ONE pro reason for fluoride in our water and DOZENS of dangerous negative reasons NOT to have it in our drinking water. Bone degradation, lower iq, makes you passive, DNA damage etc. Wake the F up people.

It's all just fluff to air the fact that Sony's royalties are eating into Activision's profits.
I think Activision see an opportunity to increase the profitability of their PS3 games division (due to lower sales numbers and higher dev times) ... as it is every companies duty to pursue higher profits for their shareholders.
I'm sure Sony and Activision will have an 'open and frank discussion' and they'll come to some agreement.
Many CEOs use the media to force their point, even if they don't intend to go through with the threat.

PlayTV To Launch In Oz 4th Quarter 08, Sub-$200

There’s been a few rumblings recently about the PlayTV’s European launch, but at a briefing today in Sydney, Sony announced that Australia will be getting the PlayTV in the fourth quarter this year, for less than $200, although official pricing and release dates are still to be confirmed.

Just wondering, do you use surge protectors on your power supplies?
(due to losing 2 consoles in such a short time span)

I'd be curious to know what the sales figues for CoD 4 are on the PC compared to the PS3.
I would have thought the PS3 would be higher due to lack of piracy.

My pet hate is 'grinding' in RPGs.
he he .. just stirring
I have both consoles, and like them both - but saying that is a bit boring
That said if a multi platform game comes along, chances are I'll get the PS3 version (provided both versions are the same quality).

Re: Rock Band Unplugged track list revealed (3 years ago)
I wish the distributors would hurry up and get this game out there. I really like it's Amplitude like game play.
The PS Store already has the tracks for downloading.

I found the subject of this thread funny given the 360's RRoD issue.

You can grab the standalone RB2 (for the 360, at least) from cdwow.com.au, that's what I did anyway.

Re: POTW: What do you think of graphics? (4 years ago)
Agreed.
Though for me gameplay will always be more important than graphics ... if they stuff that up it will make a game unplayable (eg Me and My Katamari - PSP), if the graphics aren't 100% but the gameplay is spot on it's something I can live with (eg God Hand).

I quite liked the game, but yeah it's not as good as Singstar esp now Singstar has the patch that allows you to play old PS2 discs.
Where is the replay facility for hat extra humiliation? :D
I'm waiting for the Rock Band/GH patch to use the Lips mics

Re: Xbox 360 price cut in Australia (4 years ago)
What I want to know is when are they going to drop the price of hard drives for the 360 to something reasonable??
I really like the new feature coming out of running games from your HDD, but it's pretty pointless for those of us with 20G drives as you only have about 9G free.
edit: for those people that downloaded 1 XBox original game I'm guessing the feature will be pretty much pointless

Anyone know if the microphone is compatible with Guitar Hero/Rock Band?
Well actually the mail says "September 31st, 2008"
Thanks for the heads up, I didn't notice the short expiry date.
I just tried to download then and it worked OK, so go figure?
PS thanks for the code guys! Now, I just gotta get the game ... thanks to this site I know it's on sale at Game ($69)
