Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic (1 year ago)
I'm definitely thinking of switching over to an AU server. My ping can pretty bad sometimes so I'd like the stable and low pings - especially in PVP. I also hope the populations on both sides are large though. My current server (Droogba's Pleasure Barge) has more Imps than Repubs which makes for A LOT of Huttball. I know Voidstar and Civil War need to be Imp vs. Repub but it would be nice if they could make other warzones just like that that aren't faction vs. faction based.

Also the larger bore needle (i.e. bigger needle) is so that the needle doesn't pierce nerves (a larger sized needle will pretty much just push the nerve out of the way since it's wider than the nerves (which are very very thin)) or the artery (which in the neck is quite thick and strong) and shouldn't cause any damage unless their technique is completely horrible.
So apart from the initial sensation everything will be fine and you shouldn't feel a thing. I hope that helps.

So who's migrating over to the Oceanic servers? I'm only recently 50 and just joined a guild but I think I might move over to find a guild w/ more suitable raiding times.

Yeah go "Linsanity", maybe he could bring some respectability to the Knicks, last 2 games very impressive.

The problem w/ the Knicks is the lack of a distributing PG. Lin seems to be doing a good job with this opportunity. Shumpert who started before him wasn't really a PG and it showed in the Knicks offense where they only managed 69 pts last week and have been terrible defensively. The whole D'Antoni system relies on a good PG which is why he succeeded in Phoenix with Steve Nash.
Rubio will probably win rookie of the year over Irving (who I hope will play for Australia since he was actually born here) and the T-Wolves have a good chance at making the playoffs since the West is wide open atm.
As for predictions, Chicago will probably come out of the East and the West is looking at either OKC or the Clippers (i'd love to say the Spurs but we just can't win on the road to save our lives).
Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (1 year ago)
I actually went to that event yesterday in Sydney. Managed to score a free shirt and a pass to see the movie when it comes out.
They showed the trailer in 3D and about 8-10 mins of footage. I liked what I saw. Not all of it was complete as there were still some blue-screens and there was a message from the director saying that they're in the middle of finishing off the CGI and other effects as the whole thing was shot in 3D.
I like how he doesn't have organic web-shooters and that they're really focusing on Gwen Stacey who was Peter Parker's first real love interest (Emma Stone seems to be doing a good job plus I also really hate Kirsten Dunst). The wisecracks are what make Spider-Man who he is and the Spider-Man in the Raimi trilogy didn't have enough of those. Martin Sheen seemed to be doing a good job as Uncle Ben as well from what was shown in the extra footage.
Put it this way, if it's a better movie than Spider-Man 3 and Emma Stone doesn't annoy the hell out of me like Kirsten Dunst did, I'll be happy.

Azzarello for Rorschach is a pretty good fit since he can definitely take it to that dark place it's bound to go.
All in all I really don't know what to think of all of this. I guess I'll reserve judgement for when I read them.

I sort of agree.. Athis was so-so as was Hammerstation although I enjoyed Mandalorian Raiders because I just thought it was cool that we were invading a Mandalorian station.
I've also found Colicoid War Games to be pretty fun and different. Haven't played through Cademimu yet or Foundry and Border Patrol - I can never seem to find a group for those for some reason.

ARGH!!! I accidentally right clicked on the crappiest, most basic looking speeder and bought it w/ most of my money. Now I have to save another 8K to buy a new one.
Are there other speeder vendors apart from the one on Tatooine?

What's everyone upset about? Being only lvl 26 I don't think I see enough to get upset over. I do like how things finally stack in your inventory/cargo hold now though...

Got a physical copy from EB yesterday during my day off and I've only managed to play for a few hours but so far I really dig this game. I'm treating it like KOTOR and just grouping up when needed and so far I'm enjoying it. Playing a Sith Inquisitor named Jaehiri on the server Dreego's Pleasure Palace.
I like how it's making me do 'Kill Missions' w/o actually having to go run back and forth between a quest giver, it's just tacked on to the current quest and you get the XP rewards instantly. It seems like they've hidden a lot of the 'grind' aspects that WoW had which is a good feeling since I hated the fact that I knew I had to grind out stuff.
The UI needs a bit of work though but I'm sure that will got sorted out at some point. Also supposedly there are high res textures that aren't activated or something because running it on 'high' doesn't really look that high according to some screenshots I've seen out there.
All in all, I really like this game and am glad that I picked it up and gave it a shot.

20gb +, atm for the most part I'm just soloing it as a mercenary (advanced bounty hunter) but there are bits such as flash points that you'll just get cut down too easily unless you're in a party.
Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic (1 year ago)
How big is the client download? Having heard so many people say that you can just solo it and treat it as another KOTOR, has my interest really piqued atm and am leaning towards getting it. I'm either going to buy a key online or just get a copy from EB, not quite sure yet.

After 5 days of waiting for activation and then 2 hrs on the phone w/ a technician, I finally managed to get my 'net access at my new home running. First stop, Battlefield 3!
Re: What game are you playing? (1 year ago)
Playing Saint's Row The Third and Batman Arkham City on PC.
I've already played AC on the 360 but playing it on PC w/ all the graphical options turned up high (I'm getting a steady 45-50 FPS w/ my rig unless there's a transition between rooms where it drops to like 25 but that's ok) and I'm even more impressed with it. Visually it's a completely different game going from 360 to the PC as there's more lighting, textures are better, more shadows, etc. that it just looks amazing.
Saint's Row The Third is just balls to the wall awesome. I don't know if someone's already written this here in the thread but the first few missions were absolutely awesome. One mission has you jumping out of plane, free falling and then having the plane fly at you and you end up shooting the cockpit windshield and flying through the window and the plane back into the cargo hold where you grab a parachute and do everything all over again was awesome. Kanye West's 'POWER' blaring as you're about to jump from a helicopter to gate crash and shoot up a penthouse suite party is exciting and fun. I'm only about 17% into it according to my save but I'm having a blast so far. If you just want some crazy action and fun and you aren't too fussed with a story, this game is highly recommended.

I agree w/ MrCool37 though... if you're being dominated it's really hard to claw your way back.. especially if you're stuck on an aircraft carrier and the opposing team just has tanks lined up on the shoreline.

Re: Worst game you bought this year? (1 year ago)
If you play it like you're Jack Bauer it's actually pretty cool although Sam doesn't shout anywhere near as much.

The doctors/nurses have said that they will apply a topical cream to numb the skin and then use a thin needle to take a biopsy just below the skin. Ummm... yeah right. My mass is behind a major muscle in my neck, between two main arteries supplying blood to my brain. This thing isn't just below the skin, it is way in there. This needle is going to be injected super deep and no topical numbing cream will help that. I'm feeling super frightened.
So, I discuss said fear with boyfriend. He interprets my fear of pain as fear that the needle will not make it through the muscle to the mass and proceeded to tell me all about how large and thick the needle will be. Now I'm even more scared. *sigh*
I laugh because this is what he is like when I'm in/at the hospital. He tells me horrible medical tales/info that really frighten and upset me... and he thinks he is helping.
EDIT: I'm fairly sure that when the doctor/nurse sees where the mass is located they will give me an injected anesthetic. But, I'm still anxious as all heck.
