PS Vita Wallpapers (1 year ago)
Now that you've bought your PS Vita, you probably want to customise it, here's a thread made for wall papers you might want to use for your PS Vita.
The PS Vita can have multiple wallpapers depending on how many dash board/desk tops you want to use. You can also customize the lock screen, but you can only have 1 design at a time.
The resolution of the PS Vita 5-inch OLED screen is 960x544 @ 220 dpi, so make sure that any wallpapers you create match this resolution. You can edit in the button locations into your wallpaper design, but personally I like to organize my buttons a certain way so the number of buttons on each screen differs.
You can upload the images either via Content Manager Assistant or you can simply browse here via your PS Vita internal web browser and save the images.
Here's a "How To Change Your Vita’s Wallpaper & Lock Screen"
Some links to some already existing PS Vita Wallpaper sites.

http://www.psvitawallpaper.co.uk/
Here's the direct link to the wallpapers I've created.
Here's some I've already created and using on my PS Vita from time to time, I've created a few multiple page ones since I'm currently using 5 dash board/desktop. Of course you're welcome to mix and match wallpapers to however you see fit.

You haven't gotten a PS Vita till you've lined up in zero degree temperatures on launch day!
You gotta earn that Vita! Except for Zero, he's a lazy ass ho, and got me to do all the work.

Jeremy and I decided to put Vita's emulation prowess to the test and do a side-by-side comparison. The system on top is a PSP 2000 (sorry, our 3000 was in the shop at the time), and the one below it needs little introduction at this point. Both are running the game off of internal storage. Check out the video above to see the results and feel free to ask questions or comment below.

www.destructoid.com">PSP games played on the new PlayStation Vita will see a bit of a visual upgrade with the system's bilinear filtering option. Sony Japan says that it smooths out the roughness in PSP games. I'd imagine that the big, brilliant Vita screen would show the rough edges of PSP games easily.
Tapping and holding down on the Vita screen during play of a PSP game will bring up an options menu, and in there you'll be able to select this filtering option, along with options for right analog stick use and others.. 4Gamer says that once they found this somewhat hidden option, they noticed smoother graphics and text, though they said it didn't have a huge effect in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. This video shows both the option menu and the filtering at work on PSP game Final Fantasy Type-0.
There's an image that has been going around, and it gives a detailed look at the effect of this option. You can see part of that image above. Left, you'll see the unfiltered image; the right shows the effect applied. Another Japanese blog highlights the changes in text, as you'll see below the jump.

Does the Vita use Media Go?
For your Vita file management, you have to use Sony's new software Content Manager Assistant.

Mac version:

Content Manager Assistant for PlayStation® is a computer application that enables data transfer between a PS Vita system and a computer. By installing it on your computer, you can do things like copy content from your computer to your PS Vita system and back up data from your PS Vita system to your computer.
Damn I'm finding I have to re-learn Natsu, she doesn't really play like Taki that I'm use to in previous Soul Caliburs, timing, reach and combos are a little different.
I'm so getting owned by the computer right now (on hard setting), should start using the joystick but that would require me to be not lazy.
I finished the story mode, wasn't too hard, didn't like how you have to use the character the story gave you, and I thought Pyrrha Ω, reminded me of Dark Saber from Fate Stay Night.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, the left if Pyrrha Ω, and the one in the middle and right is Dark Saber without her armor and with.

EVER?!
I really tried to like that game, thinking maybe it was a Tenchu clone or something like that, but no it was clone of a piece of turd, not even the whole turd, just a piece.
It's incredibly boring, the controls are hideous, watching a piece of turd dry would be more exciting. Ok fine it was probably rushed, but you still have to put a "game" in there some where.
Wipeout is pretty awesome for those who want a racing game, forget Ridge Racer, 3 tracks and 5 cars (whoa hang on Namco, don't put too many cars or tracks, we don't want to be spoilt for choice), oh ok it's 6 tracks, I forgot if you mirror them they become "totally different".
Ah those crazy prices for Australia, shopping in Australia need to introduce "Bicamera/Yodobashi-like" points cards or something.

www.kotaku.com.au">The Dead or Alive series is well known for its portrayal of scantily-clad characters who defy certain laws of physics with their body parts, but this may soon be a thing of the past according to Team Ninja boss, Yosuke Hayashi.
Hayashi took leadership of Team Ninja three years ago and Dead or Alive 5 will be his first opportunity to show the new direction he is taking the studio. Speaking to Gamasutra, the developer of Dead or Alive said that the game’s fanbase has grown past the sex and violence and wants something more meaningful.
“The old team was known for making games that just had two primary elements: Sex and violence,” Hayashi said.
“It was very obvious. The new team, we want to take it to a new level — to a direction that contains emotional experiences that can move players.
“Rather than just having violence for the sake of violence and cheap thrill, we wanted to give meaning to violence: Why does this happen? We want to link emotion to violence.”
Hayashi also told Gamasutra that in Dead or Alive 5 the developers want to focus on “real women”, signalling a shift away from the comically buxom fighters in previous games.
“We’ve always had the sex factor in the game; in the past, the female characters had to have big breasts, they had to have scanty dress. In DoA 5 especially, we’re trying to focus on the real women that surround us; the voice of a female, the mannerisms. We are being realistic about it.
“In the series up to now we focused on some kind of… Sports Illustrated [aesthetic], like a magazine for high school kids, with women portrayed in that sense. But that’s not what we want. We want to show something that’s more high class, that adult males of our generation could look at a woman [character] and be impressed with her as a woman, not just as a pin-up.”

I'd rather not support developers who make money by blatantly ripping off other games.
All I did was recommend a game which I thought was pretty good after reading about it on Famitsu a while back. I only mentioned it now cause you brought up shooters.
Here's the original recommendation from the editor of Famitsu, for those interested.
