Flanitor is a great med, as it's Feral Link skill is very handy. But it's max HP is a bit on the low side(maxes out at about 3300HP). I've been using Cloudburst as my ravager, it's a relatively hard creature to capture but it can be done on the Steppe as well. It maxes out with magic over 1000 and HP around 5700. The key with monsters is the infusion system, for instance cloudburst only has wind and ice based spells, but after infusing him with some other creatures he has all the fire and lightning spells as well.
I used Flanitor right until the end. I also used Flanburg (berg?) as my com. Quick and easy to level up to maximum and had decent stats to boot.

Cloudburst was a pain to find... I used one of the other mechanical ball mobs as my rav for a while (The wind one from the brasha ruins). All the mechanic ball mobs are themed and easy to level up. I suspect they all make good companions for majority of the game.

Funny things is that I never quite figured what to with the syn/sab/sen mobs, so I just let Noel/Serah handle those roles on the rare occasion I needed them.
Just a quick note for those interested in rhythm games. Sequence is 50% at Steam today, which is a rpg/rhythm hybrid game.

Heh, the one I posted was for riding corrupted chocobos. The one above is for casino chocobo racing.

This is the standard chocobo theme:

Yeah!!! Chocobo!!!

I love FF music, but don't have a 3DS and am not very good with rhythm games.
Sooo... The Last Story is coming out this week. Anyone planning on getting it?

I'm trying to decide if I want to buy it as a release day purchase or not. The initial reviews sound optimistic and it seemed to do well rating wise in Japan.

The story picked up for me partway through chapter 4. The first part of chapter 4 is annoying though.
The power button in my dell monitor is stuck... Fortunately it is stuck in the on position, so I can just yank out the power cord to turn it off. Maybe I should get a proper power board with switches...

I finished it yesterday but I'm not sure what to think. I knew of the whole TBC issue but it all just failed to get a reaction out of me. I'd like to get some closure, whether they go about doing this through a sequel or DLC, I don't know.
It's likely a flawed way of thinking, but I don't think I could fully judge the ending until I see how the following events unfold - how everything all hangs together in the end story wise. I keep getting the impression that specific pieces of lore are being kept a secret.

Out of interest, how deep would you class as 'deep water'?
For me, the rule used to be if my feet can reach the bottom and my head is poking out of the water, all is good.
BUt anything deeper starts the feelings? That's interesting (not being sarcastic). I could understand being over the ocean, the Marinara Trench pic on the first page being a reason why, but I'd think still being able to discern the bottom would make everything OK.

But then again I'm scared of taking the safest trvale option in the world, so what do I know.
To put some context into it, this is me in the water. I don't really swim and can kind of float. I have no problems in a boat or in some sort of underwater aquarium. As long as oxygen is in easy reach, I'm fine.

Huntsmans creep me out. I am compelled to get rid of one, if I know it is in the house. I can't kill them though, I catch them and put them outside. The process of doing that can take a while.

I have irrational fears of phone calls, deep water and ghosts/weird phenomena. Nothing along the lines of panic status or anything like that though. I don't think I really have any huge fears though, although I haven't been in deep water for about 20 years, so who knows how that would go.

Sazh download story content coming in February

Also mentions a casino card game (surprise!) and some costume download content, with a knight costume for Noel and an er... swimsuit for Serah...
Hopefully things will pick up for you soon Island Wolf. Moving out of home for the first time can be both an exciting and scary time. I hope your current home environment isn't treating you too bad.

You will be missed from the general PAL talk forum.
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
Well, I think I'm burnt out now at 147 frags. I just youtubed the secret ending and I think I am happy to leave it at that, unless some story dlc comes out.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Character growth was my least favourite part of the game (with exception to monsters). Most of the fragments were well done, except for a few grindy ones near the end, which would have been better off as standard achievements.
I'm not that much of a contributor these days, but I'll either move to this rocket site or maybe just fade away altogether. I'm assuming this thread and other rpg related threads in this forum will just die off.

Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
I got the normal ending last night. Still have about 30 fragments to finish off for the better ending. I attempted the last boss twice. The first time it was taking way too long and seemed to be getting more difficult, so I re-equppied myself and levelled up a little bit, then smashed it too pieces in a few minutes.
I may have missed it elsewhere on this site, but:

My phone loads PALGN far quicker than my home internet.

Considering the leak of that sort of information, there could possibly be legal implications of setting up a new site, if it involves any staff from PALGN (former or present).

Wasn't the problem with Nier the fact that there were two different versions of the game, and the better of the two versions was the Japan-only PS3 version?
I thought the 2 version thing was the visuals of the main character. In Japan, the character was a dainty guy who never had a scratch on him, while the western version was an older ugly battle scarred veteran.
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
Maybe the third game has multiple beginnings?

Ok, I don't really believe that myself.
It might be just an ad, but maybe it isn't...

Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
Well given that the FFXIII-3 website has been registered, I guess it seems likely there will be another game. I'm sure the versus crowd will be howling with fury when that gets pushed back further in favour of this. icon_wink.gif
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
So we'll have to pay for dlc to get a better interpretation of the ending.
