Re: Your newest purchase (5 years ago)
I bought a 27" Uniden LCD Widescreen TV for $699 at WOW.

It works nicely and happy with my purchase, i know it ain't top of the line but it will do for a broke ass uni student.
I finally get full functioning internet back in the last days of my holidays. back to uni tomorrow with Welfare & Society Law, Intro to Digital Innovation, Internet Marketing & Systems Analysis & Design. What a great semester that lies ahead with 7 assignments and 2 tests.

Passed 3 out of 4 classes last semester (failed accounting principles *i hate accounting so much!) but passed marketing research, commercial law & business computing. 1 and a half years down...another 1 and a half to go. For the record im doing Bch of E-Commerce

Tate is a cripple...nuff said!
Liverpool fan since i was 7...cant believe the amount of success we have had in since 2001...i remember the heartache of the 90's all too well and going to school proudly displaying my love for the reds and getting bagged out about never winning anything. Nothing will beat Instanbul, unless there is a Stevie G wonder goal that wins them the game in injury time. Can't wait...im staying up all night (i have assignments to do) and will be still be pumped by the time kick off comes around!

Come tomorrow morning we will have hopefully won the major prize 6 times. The greatest club of all time. YNWA.
Re: Your newest purchase (6 years ago)
Today finishes my last spending spree for a while (need to buy uni textbooks next week).

Muse - Showbiz: $9.95
Muse - Origin of Symmetry: $14.95 (Their best album IMHO)
Muse - Absolution: $9.95

*I have had burnt copies of all their albums for ages but seeing im working lots i can afford to buy them...considering they are so cheap and i bought Black Holes when it first came out last year so all i need is their absolution tour DVD and hullabaloo CD/DVD to complete the collection...also downloaded their b-sides collection which is awesome*

Pink Floyd - Pulse DVD: $24.95 - 4 hours of footage of one of the best bands of all time. Watching & Listening to Dark Side Of The Moon Live in 5.1 Surround Sound. So many features that i would of easily paid $50 for.

Red/Blue Lava Lamp: $30 - Always wanted one, dont know why i havent got one sooner seeing this is my 4th year at uni...this year will see my res college room turned into a bachelor pad *which is why im not gonna quit my job because i need lots of money to change it up*

Later this month will be the shagpile rug, beaded curtains, lots of band posters, stickers to go over my bar fridge and emac and other various things =D
Track: Iron Man (This Is War)
Artist: Busta Rhymes

Im going through 5GB's of random mixed mp3's i forgot i had on my external hard drive and tagging them correctly. One of the funniest covers i have ever heard...gotta love Busta!

New Ebay Purchases:

Toshiba A20 Satelite Power Supply - $40 (i was looking at $150 for an official Toshiba replacement...so im quite happy with spending $40 on a new one considering the previous one was official and dodgy as).

2006/2007 Liverpool #18 Kuyt Home Jersey - $40 (i have last seasons jersey with Gerrard on the back and i had one when i was a kid with Fowler *under 9's football was so much fun*). Wanted to get the away jersey with Kuyt's number but they sold out of Liverpool away jersey's. Kuyt is the best player Rafa has purchased...the only player with the great desire to play for Liverpool and has the natual ability and hard work ethic which will see him succeed in the EPL.

Social Distortion Gambling With Lives Since 1979 T-Shirt - $21 (My favourite band of all time and it is a never worn '02 tour shirt. It is one of the very few Social D shirts with a great design and for $21 including shipping...i think it was a bargin considering the only Social D shirts you get in Australia are $40 and have a crappy design that has nothing to do with Social D.)

Hello Che T-Shirt - $21 (a piss take of both Che Guevara and Hello Kitty...while i am a politcal person who has knowledge about the history of Che...i just hate how fashioncore retards wear shirts with his face on them because they think they are a cool uni student. This shirt is going to sort out the smart from the stupid when someone pulls me up for wearing a shirt that mocks Che).
I got the peanuts shirt with Player on it. I thought it was pretty funny. 50% of my clothes are from Jay-Jays because i am a Uni Student...40% of my clothes are from City Beach and the rest are going out expensive clothes that i buy on special. I dont mind Jay-Jays at all and they have a good 3 for $30 t-shirt sale on now as well. Agreed that the Super Mario Kart shirt isn't the best design. Will wait for a Yoshi shirt.

The Cloud Room - Hey Now Now

(well i think thats what it is...i was made to find out what it was by people i live with).
Re: NRL Tipping (6 years ago)
I'll be in as well.

And as for those 4 issues mentioned above i agree with your suggestion Qbert.
Put on the movie "Shortbus" thinking it would be a quirky arthouse movie about sex and relationships. Played it for 2 minutes...then threw up a little in my mouth...then turned it off. I dont know whether i can say the reason why. Even though i have a high tolerance level to most things...but...god damn! Thank god it was free.

Is the new edition any good?

Also with the uni parking...its the only advantage of riding a bike to uni...the disadvantages go for miles tho.
Re: Your newest purchase (6 years ago)
Bought: Dunlop Barcoo Mountain Bike - $168

Just wish this constant rain would go away so i could ride out to Uni. Have a exam tomorrow morning, but will have to cab it in cause of the rain.

Speaking of selling the Wii, i am tempted at the moment. I want it because of Forza 2 coming soon and ricky pontings cricket 2007. I would settle for $650 to $700. Will most probally sell now and wait for the ps3 launch (just in case there is a price drop).
Re: Your newest purchase (6 years ago)
Schroeder & Snoopy "Player" T-Shirt from Jay Jays - $20
New Stubbie Cooler - $10
Party supplies (minus alcohol & snacks) for my birthday bash over the weekend - $30

Tomorrow - Alcohol & Party Snacks - $90 to $120 *gonna be one hell of a weekend*
All you need is 20 mp3's, a cd-r, a marker, a sense of romance and a bit of musical knowledge. If you know a girl well enough you could have the best gift which will cost $1.20 max. Mixtapes Rock!
Re: +4 Dexterity (6 years ago)
I remember the days of going to Timezone in Toombul when i was a kid, so many birthday parties, sporting after parties and even the occasional wasted saturday afternoon for a couple of hours. The lock-ins were so much fun, i used to be at the top of the Virtua Cop 2 leaderboard, but that was so many years ago. They also had one at the Aspley Hypermarket but i hadn't been their since i was 12 or 13. Those were the good ol days.

I was even talking to a customer the other night at the video store about not even going in and renting a game out for the night has the same feeling anymore. Kids these days are spoiled rotten and will get out games every night. I remember the absolute joy of going to Video Flicks (god damn i sound old) and my parents allowed me to get two games out a weekend (not every weekend...but it varied). I only had 5 or 6 bought master system games...so the thrill of getting a new game and playing it to death and trying to finish before it had to be returned Sunday night was so great. So many kids get a game these days because it looks fun or its cool to get...they play it for an hour or two and want a new one because they dont like it anymore. I suppose there will always be memories =D
Song - The Scientist
Artist - Coldplay
Album - A Rush Of Blood To The Head

Why - I already know what will happen tomorrow...so im just preparing for a valentines day sms that i dont want to receive.
Re: Your newest purchase (6 years ago)
Clothes - 6 new shirts, 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of pants for $55 @ jay jays (my entire spring clothing has been bought...very cheaply). Also bought The OC season 1 on DVD for $25 because it easily takes my mind off other things for an hour a day. Groceries were $25 and im getting a new push bike with birthday money because i want to ride out to uni and get fitter. Plus no one in their right mind would drive a car in Mackay.
song: Crave
artist: The Butterfly Effect
album: Begins Here

Absolutely beautiful song, i've heard it live twice (seen them live 3 times but the first time i saw them was in 2002 and they only had their EP out at the time) and its really something to see Clint sing this in person up close (the last time i saw it was in August last year and i was right up against the rail). Begins Here was so under-rated, there was so much love for their EP and Imago...but a lot of critics blasted Begins Here. So much more melodic and so much more heartfelt.
Watched "School For Scoundrels" and i thought it was a really great movie. Jon Heder puts in another great "dorky" performance and he is just funny even in the most awkward spots. Billy Bob Thorton puts in his usual performance as of late as the wise-crackin mentor. I don't know whether a lot of people would like it, but i could really relate to Jon Heder's character (im not that much of a loser tho) and the whole chase scenario just reminds me of everytime i've ever gone for a girl. Not a movie that constantly funny...but a very well rounded movie none the less.
Re: Your newest purchase (6 years ago)

Scream - $6.95
Scarface - $9.95
South Park: Bigger Longer Uncut - $9.95
Malibu's Most Wanted - $8.95

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints

Plot Outline: The movie is a coming-of-age drama about a boy growing up in Astoria, N.Y., during the 1980s. As his friends end up dead, on drugs or in prison, he comes to believe he has been saved from their fate by various so-called saints.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Rosario Dawson, Chazz Palminteri, Dianne Weist, Channing Tatum.

Brilliant movie, I really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for 80's New York settings for movies, and most of the movie is set there. Robert and Rosario are only in the present day section of the film, though the younger versions of their characters are spectacular too.

So anyway... two thumbs up. icon_y1.gif icon_y1.gif
Only got to watch a quarter of the movie on last months preview tape, i thought it was pretty good even though i wasn't really in the mood to watch a movie. Will get it out when it comes to DVD...unless its out already and i havent seen it on the shelf as i barely work there anymore.
I only realised i typed debate...i did mean to type discussion...well it is very early morning. I was hesitant on bringing up the whole suicide topic as it does get people very worked up...especially people who have lost and deal with it a lot differently than what i have. I would go into the suicide topic further but i don't think this is the right thread to do so, especially seeing as it could possibly be anything that killed her. Also i don't know the mods stance on whether the topic should be discussed in the first place.

I think we wont find out the prelim results for another day or two and seeing as it is Anna Nicole Smith it will be dragged out for months most probally (and thats not her fault, i know).
Yes, i admit i didn't look at it that way regarding the starving children (everytime i say those words, i think of family guy when Peter and Bono are on a deserted island) and you do have a very valid point.

Anyway yes Anna Nicole Smith has suffered on an emotional level...hell we all have at least once in our lives. Its not that i hate Anna Nicole Smith...i don't even know her that well and im not really one to delve into celebrity gossip and i think the only time i have ever seen her mentioned is on the news when she does stupid attention seeking stuff and the most i've ever read about her was after she passed away...i just think suicide (thats if her death really is suicide...i know only a few will ever know the truth) is one of the most unforgivable things (before people jump down my throat with stories...this is my opinion and i have lost family to suicide as well as friends and i am not a highly religous person...i am most probally more Agnostic than anything else).

In the end the loss of life is always tragic and there will be a lot of people out there that are mourning her passing away...i guess im also one not to mourn over just anybody. I think the reason for my rant in the first place is because everyone is allowed to have a difference opinion when it comes to most aspects of life...but the moral majority always seem to push their beliefs when it comes to death and we have to hold everyone as a shining example of a human being once they are deceased.

I think im actually more suprised at there being an intellectual debate in a topic about Anna Nicole Smith.
Song: Smoke (Demo)
Album: Crimson (Bonus Limited Edition 2CD)
Artist: Alkaline Trio

Im in the stabby rip stab stab mood =D
A starving kid in Africa dies every three 3 seconds and has to put up with a lot more problems in their entire lifespan of 6 years than Anna Nicole Smith would had to of put up with if she lived to be 60 or 70.

Did you know 4 American Troops died in Iraq just the day before? One of them was a young 20 year old girl, Cpl. Jennifer M. Parcell.

She married an 80 year old for money, she did a huge amount of drugs, she posed nude for a magazine...what the f**k did she ever do? Just because she is a celebrity doesn't mean the whole world has to stop and mourn her loss.

Plus as Obs pointed out, if it was suicide, she had a 5 month year old girl and i bet to god any money the same people having a go at Obs and Cap would be the same people taking the easy jabs and condeming a junkie mother from Bankstown if she commited suicide while she had a 5 month old baby.
Song: Train In Vain
Artist: The Clash
Album: The Clash Singles Boxset

*Taken originally from the only album that mattered (London Calling) from the only band that mattered (The Clash).* Its also has to be the grooviest song ever.
I think there is more whinging then trolling on this board.

great DVD if it is. it's funny seeing a lot of his content said by other comedians at the last few Melbourne Comedy Festivals, and around the place, and you realise that it was said first more than 10 years ago.

truely ahead of his time.
Yeah that is the one. I had avi copies of relentless and revelations as well as the bootleg CD's...i even have a really crappy avi copy of Sane Man as well...but that finally came to DVD late last year, yet i have to order it in. I think i have listened to Rants In E Minor so much i have it memorised.

The last Melbourne Comedy Festival was painful to watch. I really want to shove broken glass through Will Andersons face. I know what your saying about people using his material...the whole "what do atheist's scream when their having sex" has been ripped off a million times.
