I took that from the funny links thread, but it made me feel more violent hate then humour. "Should Diablo 3 have been first person?" NO! you ignorant little diaper stain! It wouldn't be a god-damn Diablo game /without/ isometric view >.< Raa.

Thanks to a guy I play CS:S with I've discovered dubstep, WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I WAS GETTING BORED OF HOUSE/TRANCE!? xD
Re: One Sitting (1 year ago)
Oooo, I haven't tried that, is it some relation to Chrono Trigger? And how long is it? cause anything longer than 18-20 hours seems to be my limit
Re: One Sitting (1 year ago)
Alright finally awake enough to post again
The thing that sent me packing was while running around Hollow Bastion trying to find Tron's computer lab I realised I knew where it was, knew how to get there but just couldn't seem to follow my own directions >.> I'd be thinking "Okay next left" then I'd forget that in the intervening seconds and just go straight. I figured if I couldn't even navigate a simple path I was probably done.
I'm probably gonna finish the last few hours sometime soon, just so that whole exercise wasn't wasted
.
Oh and I'm definitely doing this again, even with the whole nearly passing out thing i still had heaps of fun...definitely a shorter game next time though, that was brutal xD

Re: One Sitting (1 year ago)
Alright i've taken it as far as I can, 18 hours of straight gaming (Started this at 7:30pm last night) and i can barely see straight. Didn't get all the way to the end, but I made it to the final run on Hollow Bastion, with all the other worlds completely finished. Thanks to those who dropped in to watch and suggested games for me, I'll definitely be picking a shorter game next time xD
(i'll probably delete this and rewrite it properly after i sleep, but that's generally what I'm thinking now) Thanks again!

Edit:
Also on a side note, just so everyone can chuckle at me being an idiot, I forgot i could just stick my ps2 disc of Kingdom hearts 2 in and play it with the emulator. So i wasted 6 gig downloading it -_- then realised i'd downloaded kingdom hearts /1/ not 2. It was only at that point that I remember i could just stick the disc -_-...fffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-

I hope you're taking food/water/toilet breaks if you plan on beating Diablo 2 like that. GL HF smurr!

I know its a NO to fallout 3/new vegas, but what about original fallout or fallout tactics? I can beta fallout 1 in just under 2 hours or so but that's doing side missions and on easy mode. I also know where everything is..
Tactics you can knock over in a little more. And if you liked fallout, this is a good way to get some back story in the fallout world.
If you feel like something old school, I might even suggest mother 3...my friend wouldn't shut up about it and I got my hands on a copy today and if it wasn't for work, I would have not been able to stop :\
Ill also just say now, shining force 2 and super hydlide on the sega. I sunk sooooo many hours/days/months into those two games as a kid and recently refinished it. They don't make RPG like they used to.
*edit*
O I see you already have a shortlist. I'd put my vote in for dark chronicle. Very very awesome. But not something you can knock over in a weekend :\
How can we watch your livestream?

Alright I've decided to go with Kingdom Hearts 2 this time, not one of the ones suggested I know but It's one I know can keep me awake. (Because I'm an overly nervous bloke I almost started trying to justify my choice of game here for some reason xD) I'll be streaming it to
http://www.livestream.com/onesittinggaming?t=614190
Hope to see some of you there
Oh yeah I nearly forgot, I have my snacks!
4ltrs of Pepsi
1.5ltrs of energy drink (the dragon one
2 packets full of chocolate bars (About 25 total)
1 packet of twisties
1 cake (Love mah partner for that one ^.^)
Last but not least, if Kingdom hearts doesn't work properly, or crashes prematurely/won't capture right I'll be falling back on Diablo 2
Re: One Sitting (1 year ago)
Alright I think I've narrowed it down to a short list of Diablo 2 (Normal mode, all 3 difficulties), Kingdom Hearts 2, Jade Empire or perhaps Dark Cloud/Dark Chronicle if I can finda copy of them
Thanks for all the suggestions and idea's guys I'll post the link to my livestream tommorrow night with my game choice and starting time (And my collection of snacks if i have them xD. Feel free to drop in and see how i'm doing/remind me how much i'm going to hate myself towards the end

Seconded for Jade Empire. Critical path it and it can be done in 12-15 I think.
I've beaten ME1 in one sitting but I knew where everything was.
I think it would be interesting to do Fallout 3 for 12 hours - no story missions.
Guys how long is Chrono Trigger?
Also I would aim towards modern games, older games ran longer.
I have to throw in my favorite Kotor but that might kill you.

Re: One Sitting (1 year ago)
I had never even heard of eithe of them until you mentioned them
they look interesting (particularly the rebuilding aspect, I love that sorta stuff) It does look like the sort of game where i'd get distracted trying to completely rebuild everything though which could prove my undoing

He said no Ultima games either grim-one
. Umm I can't think of any awesome ones I played that you could beat it one sitting, Persona 3 and 4 took me like 60 - 80 hours each so that would be suicide.
Maybe both the Paper Marios or Tales of Symphonia or something?

I don't get why you would want to do this. Don't you get mental fatigue after a while? I can't even play most games for more than a couple of hours before wanting to do something else. and wont you sleep?
I just don't get the appeal of this plan. o_O

Stonekeep is one of my favourite games. It hasn't aged well, but it is a fantastic grid dungeon crawler.

Maybe have a look through the gog.com RPG catalogue? They're all pretty cheap and good fun.
Arcanum, Baldur's Gate, Gothic, Might and Magic, Neverwinter, Planescape, Stonekeep and Vampire the Masquerade are all brilliant. Not sure if you've played them before, but it'd be more fun if you haven't right?

No Final Fantasy? You sure? ;P One day I watched a man attempt to beat FFVII in 24 hours, he kept on getting game overs, but got up to the last boss, but couldn't beat him before time was up, he was raging!
Anyways, what consoles do you have to choose RPGS from? Just the 360?

Uh, PC, PS2 and PS1, I do have a 360 but i can't stream that cause i don't have a capture card (yet).

if you have pc, try the witcher 2. just picked it up and an hour in and Ive still got an erection!! if limited to consoles, cant really recommended too much, maybe fable 3, but you'd probably need all 3 fables to make it a full weekend

I would have voted for Fallout: New Vegas, hardcore, hard, being a pacifist but since you already discarded that I'll suggest: Ultima IV, Ultima Underworld, any of the original Fallouts, Dragon Age 1
One Sitting (1 year ago)
Well after much internal struggle and debate I've decided to kill as many braincells as possible by picking up a good RPG and trying to finish it in one long sitting. I expect to imbibe roughly my own body weight in snacks, soft drink and energy drinks before I'm through and have a swift heart attack at the end (hopefully after the ending cut scene). I'll also have it running on livestream if anyone feels like dropping by and watching me slowly go mad. (The link for that will come later, once Ive figured out how to view the chat screen in game). Now to the crux of the matter though! I've been wracking my brain and I can't for the life of my figure out which game I want to play!
So here's the real question ladies and gents, can you help me pick an RPG to drown my weekend in? I know there's a large panel of experts around here, I hope to dip into your collective knowledge
(oh yeah I should probably add a small list of games I've already considered and discarded - Fallout 3/New Vegas, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dragon Age 2, Any Final Fantasy (I'd die in the process) or any of the Ultima games)
Thanks!

I hope that you mean March 6 2012 or I've missed out on my looked forward to game of 2012 by quite a bit
Re: Choosing a Phone ??? (2 years ago)
If you're willing to wait a little while I'd go for the Samsung Galaxy S 2 or the HTC Incredible 2 both have got an 8mp camera and the S2 can record in FullHD if video is particualrly important to you. If you'd prefer it now though the Galaxy S or Incredible S are both excellent, and as a fan of Sony the Xperia Play looks amazing if you can get one.
Re: What game are you playing? (2 years ago)
Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction has once again ensnared me in it's addictive tentacles. Started last night and I've got the nice beginings of a paladin avenger going on. (Hell yeah multiple elemental damages from one skill). Finally sorted out playing online as well but haven't really given it much of a chance yet. (Stuff like this is really meant to be played with people you can use talk to and bullshit with while you play imo). Can't wait till diablo 3 finally gets realsed, but it's got a hell of a legacy to live up to
