I hope it's great, of course. Unfortunately, all signs (what little there are) point to another 5 hour swing-and-a-miss attempt at a piss-take from Platinum. They easily could have taken Raiden out for another ironic lead to camp and sass their way through a game I don't care about.

Prove me wrong, children. Prove me wrong.
Obviously I can return it if I don't like it. Thanks for the sweet personal attack, though.

Bayonetta's a thinly veiled attempt to appeal to trendwhore try-hards with rhythm button-mashing.

but please dont diss Kojima. If it wasnt for him, this game wouldnt have seen the light of day.
Man **** that, this is far far more exciting then anything kojima has put out. Hopefully with platnium games behind it we'll get an actual **** game not a bunch of long winded cut scenes with dollops of gameplay put throught it as an attempt to justify the fact that it's on the playstation instead of at the cinema.
No, fuck that. I don't play MGS to experience a shit beat em up and I daresay most fans would be exactly the same.[/i]

Lawl. Loving the internet exploding with bawwing crybaby Metal Gear fans who cant get over a non-serious game taking itself...not seriously, versus the laughable cheesey and over serious trainwreck that was Metal Gear 4. Hideo is probably proud as hell as a competent developer is now actually making the game, rather than it being stuck in development hell forever at KojiPro.
Yes, we're all looking forward to close-ups of Raiden's dick. I'm sure it's going to be hi-hilarious with its non-seriousness and penis shots.
Bayonetta was ridiculously overrated. I wonder how many scrot shots they'll fit into this?

It's Metal Gear, so I'll be all over it, but expecting it to be on the wrong side of the shit scale.
I was expecting this thread to be much hotter.
Agree with Splinter Cell: Conviction. I think I played it late last year, but I'd have played it this year it'd be number on my shit scale. Seemed promising, but quickly turned into a clunky mess that was never sure of itself.
Deadly Premonition

Yep, I get how fucken weird and insane it's supposed to be and I appreciate that part of it, but I'm too time-poor to trudge through the broken gameplay and boring drives to get to the amusing parts. Camp value alone won't cut it and I really couldn't be fucked with it.

EA Sports MMA

Bought it on impulse for about $7. Shit house.

Atelier Rorona

I am a JRPG fan, but it's just too cutesy and effeminate for me. I'm sure the game's fine, I just can't bring myself to continue playing it. I was dropping man points by the second.
1. Skyrim: Even though I'm kind of burnt out on it, it's been 50 hours of brilliance so far. It's also been such a quality discussion topic, particularly over a beer. Everyone has their own story and someone's always doing something you haven't.

2. Deus Ex: HR: Despite having never played the originals, I was sucked in by the fancy trailers 18 months out. More or less lived up to my high expectations.

3. Uncharted 3: Not as good as U2, but it was such an awesome ride. Everyone can get fucked, the flashback sequence was great.

4. Infamous 2: Improved on the first in most areas. The series gets "sandbox" right for me.

5. Gears of War 3: Almost put Bulletstorm here, but I can't go past the split screen joy that GoW provides. Little point playing this without someone next to you.

Apologies to Bulletstorm, Crysis 2 and Portal 2. Maybe LA Noire, too.

New Vegas was actually superior overall compared to Fallout 3, it was a lot more personable, and Old World Blues had me in stitches.
Disagree that it was superior overall. As far as the main quest went, it turned into a jumbled mess. Again, not to say I didn't love it.

Further to my point, Obsidian are only capable of riding on someone else's coat tails. Trey's involvement has me very interested in this, but if Obsidian were left to their own devices I'm confident this game would find itself closer to "shit" than not.
People's thoughts on the memory card prices? I don't think we have Australian prices yet, but $120 for the 32gb is excessive. Might start off with 4gb.
I think there's been excessive wank over Obsidian in here. New Vegas was great, but only because Fallout 3 was even better.

lol, tacky show with bottomfeeder sellout developer. Sounds like a match made in heaven. (yes i expect alot of hate for my opinion)
Your definition of "tacky" would be great reading, I'm sure.

Looking forward to this as long as Trey's up to his arse involved in it.
I assumed the event would be a chance for two people who liked the same game to be locked in a room together to masturbate furiously.

Still think that's a better idea than the "D-grade celebrities and hookers" angle they went with.
First paragraph is hilarious. Having a go about Battlefield and Call of Duty's (deserved) cash cow status, then lauding a RE-RELEASE that has spawned an endless supply of mostly mediocre money-grubbing tie-ins.

I'm hoping you were being ironic.

Having said that, really enjoying playing this again in split screen.
DA2 wasn't that bad... in fact, I'd go as far to say it was decent.

I've always wanted a deep and feature-rich cricket game. Hopefully as India becomes increasingly rich there's a chance of this happening, but I'm not holding my breath.

A good AFL game is a pipe dream.
You can order them separately, both the Alliance and Cerberus versions.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
EB will price match Halo if the local Big W has it in stock. Just grabbed a copy.
They haven't gone far enough. More.
Animus Edition is sitting pretty at my feet now. Just need to find the time to play it...

and the Elder Scrolls/Fallout set as the other major ones.
I know I said I wouldn't place any rules on it, but that's obviously against the rules.

When the first game on the current gen consoles are Fallout three and Elder scrolls four: Oblivion then It's not a franchise from the current gen.
Happy to rule out ES, but given that current Fallout has little to do gameplay-wise with the old ones and for most it's their first entry point in the series, I think it deserves attention. Not sure why we'd ignore new Fallout, but allow SMG? Unnecessarily anal, bro.[/b]
Mass Effect is my favourite. As Jarrod said, the lore, etc. just hits all the right notes.

I'd probably rate Assassin's Creed and the Elder Scrolls/Fallout set as the other major ones. Gears of War deserves a mention for keeping split-screen in vogue, too.
Just had my first "random" dragon. Fucked that shit up!

A few recent purchases.
I'm trying to lure out the Dark Brotherhood, so getting a few sneaky murders in when I can.

Committed a double murder straight after the intro. Tried to pickpocket a couple while they were sleeping, got caught and had to ensure no witnesses. Much better than Oblivion where it felt like guards had a sixth sense about crimes.
Re: Mdubbya3 (1 year ago)
Beat the campaign. Pretty much enjoy every CoD campaign and this was one of the better ones. Fitting conclusion.
I've been getting parcels left out in the open at my front door. Amazed I haven't had anything stolen.
Reckon it'll be shit. 2/3 (books and TV series) will do.
I picked mine. Couldn't resist the cunt.
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
I ended up ordering the Crystal edition from EB. Hopes = high. Possibility of disappointment = very high icon_sad.gif
