Big W had some amazing deals when I popped in on Sunday. PS3 Darksiders was $15! Pretty sure they had some other decent $15 titles in there as well.
I compiled a list of what was at my local store, can be found here: http://www.ecogamer.com.au/content/100-saleclearance/4811-big-w-big-list-o-games
Cheers Esposch, I still dont have that one.
PS2 is $89 next week at Kmart. Starting 26th.
Really good article. A number of games I hadnt heard of in there.

Obviously with only 10 there is a lot of good stuff you missed. Enemy Territory, War Rock, FEAR combat, Tribes 1 & 2, Area 51, GunBound, MechCommander 1 & 2, Savage 1 & 2, Battleforge, Full Spectrum Warrior and of course more.

Just limiting yourself to the good games you could squeeze out another 2-3 articles like this (which I would love to see).

The person to blame for this isn't Conroy at all, it's Atkinson, if he'd bother approving an R18+ rating there would be no issue.
Conroy was saying over and over again that the filter would only block "child exploitation material". This just further proves that he's totally full of ****.
I dont think he is full of shit. I think he hasnt got any idea what is going on. I saw him on insight a few months ago when they were discussing the firewall. It was him versus everyone else on the show. It was just bizarre. They had ISPs there, parents, sex and fetish groups (sensible, educated types), businesses who had been placed on a block list (due to hackers putting bad material on their site). He never came up with a single proper answer. All he could say was the leaked block list (containing perfectly acceptable websites) was an old version and asure everyone that all they were going to block was the sort of aweful material no one wants to see.

Now with this news we can see just how little those implementing the blocklist know about what they are doing.
I would have thought that Peter Molyneaux's reputation for overhyping stuff would have been brought up by now. His tech demo would have been very impressive if it werent for the fact that I couldnt believe any of it.

I did see some pretty neat potential for the microphone though. Imagine in Mass Effect or Dragon Age. Instead of reading what you are going to say and selecting it via a menu. You just have the options written at the bottom of the screen and read out loud the line you want. It would be tremendously immersive, particularly coupled with the cut scenes expected.

Granted, thats if voice recognition will work. I once had a PDA with voice activation set up as a universal remote. I could very easily say "TV on" and the TV would switch on. But doing anything else didnt work because once it was on, there was too much noise for the PDA to detect my voice. Not sure how specialised equipment will fair.

I recommend people check out EB games sales, crazy, Warcraft 3 battlechest $40, Rainbow 6 vegas 2, $50.
R6 Vegas 2 was $40 earlier in the year at Toys R Us. There isnt anything exceptional in the EB Games sale but Ill be getting Gears of War finally as its $30.
So you know Joseph. GAME Deals of the Week are the same as last week, IE all the Wall-E titles.

If you think Harvey Norman dont have bargains then you dont know how to bargain hunt. When they clear out games they REALLY clear them out.

THEMAN, check out this deal from last month. *universe explodes*

YEA, IN QLD ONLY!!
I was just trying to prove a point. HN have good prices when they decide to do it (which as we all know isnt very often). Also, any HN store in Australia would have price matched that price catalogue.

Like TheAnswer said sometimes they just want to move stock.

The Xbox 360 DSE game prices havent changed since July. Good luck finding stock for any of the cheap games still listed on the website.
What I dont get is why Nintendo gets sued left right and center? (well yea I do, its money and they made it big, but hear me out)

Technically, assuming Nintendo is in the wrong in the first place, shouldnt only one company be entitled to sue them over the Wii remote? Or does the Wii remote miraculously infringe on all these different patents that somehow do not infringe on each other? Nintendo technically shouldnt owe any more than 1 company anything.
Except when they have $20 Burnout Paradise.
I love SCIV but not as much as SCII. I think its mostly to do with Ivy being completely different.

Online against locals is fantastic, but in ranked matches overseas it can be dreadful. Theres always a 0.5-1 second delay between pressing a button and it being executed. Its very difficult to guard impact or sidestep Y button mashers when they have such a huge host advantage. I can only win 50% of them even though I know exactly how to counter it. Its extremely frustrating.

I performs as good as the best online fighters out there. Perfection isnt possible with such physical restraints but I think the review should have pointed that out.
Re: E3 2008 (4 years ago)
I liked the conference but thought it was just like Nintendo's last year. I had no interest in WiiFit then and none about any of MS's silly casual games now. Nice start though and I remain hopeful that there will be more games revealed via videos and trailers on the floor, otherwise itll be a very disappointing E3.
Re: E3 2008 (4 years ago)
Im watching it from IGN: http://livewire.ign.com/2008/e3/index.html

Tested it out this morning by watching the round tables. Worked fine with no stutter on my 512k connection.
Re: E3 2008 (4 years ago)
Im thinking of staying up, but will probably do what Vervain said, just give up. My major motivation for watching it live is because downloads the next day go at dailup speeds because everyone is downloading the conferences.
Yea the 2nd Paper Mario should be Galaxy
Tom, take your receipt and grab a copy of the catalogue as you walk in. Point out the dates on each and say you are entitled to the lower price. If they offer store credit insist it was their error and that nothing less of a refund of the difference is acceptable.

Youre missing the GAME catalogue. I will get around to scanning it and putting it up on ecogamer probably around midday tomorrow. I was disappointed to find its been going since the 5th and never knew.
I have previously posted the GAME specials already in the gaming bargain thread icon_smile.gif
Yea I 'borrowed' them for Ecogamer, but its still missing from that article as far as I can see.

If MS decide to release a blu ray drive for the 360 I hope they make it able to play HD DVD as well, it'll definitely would save current users having to swap drives (if they decide to purchase one) if its needed and be able to build atop of their HD DVD library.
Unlikely... wait, entirely impossible. BluRay is fundamental to the PS3, there is no way they will give Microsoft access to BluRay this generation (possibly for even longer).
Not to sure whether Sony has the right to deny Microsoft their right to build a BD player for the 360 since they don't own the technology. (so i'm thinking)
I had forgotten about some of the things MS said about BluRay. It might be possible, if MS say they have been talking with BluRay all along. I dont see how though. Isnt Sony primarily in charge?

Anyone know what PC titles are 50% off at EB?
You could get the Fallout Collection for PC for $12.50 if so desired, providing you can find an EB with stock since it's a discontinued line.
Checked their website and its not even in the database.
