Re: Starhawk Beta (1 year ago)
Ok, having played a little more of this, I am starting to get the hang of it.

I have worked out:
- You have to press a button on a structure to get the vehicle (eg, you have to press a button to get a Hawk)
- Spawn points make the game much more interesting

I played a little bit last night, then gave Warhawk a go afterwards for comparison's sake. Got into a fun game of HERO and thought, "Starhawk has a lot to live up to."
Re: Starhawk Beta (1 year ago)
Yeah I am still quite confused about the building system too. There are a lot of times when I find myself wandering aimlessly on foot.
Re: Starhawk Beta (1 year ago)
I thought they may have given out a code for those that played Warhawk a heap, but there goes that suggestion then!

I'm not convinced about the "Build and Battle" system yet. I'll have a better idea when I pump more time into the beta.

Like Warhawk, I suppose Starhawk will require a fair bit of playing time before it starts to get enjoyable.
Starhawk Beta (1 year ago)
Anyone else get an invite to the Starhwak beta?

Played a little bit last night, but haven't got a good feel of it yet.
Re: Starhawk Announced (2 years ago)
I dunno about this. It doesn't LOOK fun, but then again neither did Warhawk. I know Warhawk was a hellova lot of fun once you got used to it, so I'm sure this will be the same.

I'm also not sold on the single player campaign either, but time will tell, and I'm still looking forward to it.

If it's good I'd be keen to take on a few of the fellow PALGN'ers. I have fond memories of kicking BurnZy and Gooner's butts in Warhawk a couple of times. icon_wink.gif

^ Umm...think you put up the wrong video burnZy baby...
Re: PSN down? (2 years ago)
Pfft, Credit Card fraud happens every day. I doubt it's because of SONY's security balls up.

Anybody who has a card and used the PSN will now automatically blame SONY for any suspect transactions.
Re: Warhawk 2 rumoured (2 years ago)
I have been waiting on news on Starhawk/Warhawk II for a couple of years now.

Warhawk was pure awesome. SO much fun! Would have spent over 100 hours playing that game, so a sequel would be out of the world! Can't wait to see it in action. This is probably my most anticipated game for this generation.

So here's to hoping that they release a trailer for it soon!
Re: Resistance 3 (2 years ago)
^ YES YES YES! One hit shotties at the bus yard! Oh, so so good!

Like yourself I was pretty good at one hit shotties, and it was pretty exhilarating when you held a narrow lead. To be honest, I think Resistance 1 multiplayer has not been beaten in an FPS since. And yes, I've played COD with some friends...it's good, but not bus yard one hit shotties Resistance good!

The level with on the ship was also really fun with one hit shotties.

It concentrates on the valuation and management side of real estate, as opposed to planning and construction.
Last year this year, Honours next year icon_biggrin.gif
Honours, well done. I did a B. Business at UWS and haven't found a job since!

We should talk valuation methods one day... icon_cool.gif
Math3w, what property degree are you doing (slightly off topic, I know)?
^ Yeah, the draw system was MUCH better than the crap system in XIII. At least you had to think in VIII.
FF IX didn't do it for me. Call it the super-deformed characters or the world they created, it didn't click with me. But each to their own.
I would recommend giving X a go first. X is my favourite alongside of VIII. It had a really good story (I think), strong characters, a great mini game (once you know what to do), decent battle system, and most of all some stunning and very memorable locations (Besaid island rocked my socks).

I'm playing FFXIII at the moment. I went into the game with low expectations, so at least I'm not too disappointed in it. But I will agree with everyone else, the battle system is the worst of the series. It makes XII's system look good!
Re: The PSP Vita Thread (2 years ago)
It sure easy on the eyes, I love the look of it.

Gimmicky controls are a waste of time IMO, although the rear touch pad is kinda cool.
Playing Super Meat Boy.

Most aggravating game EVER! Spent about an hour last night on a warp zone level and still couldn't finish it!
If they haven't fixed the floaty controls, I don't think I'll be getting this anytime soon.

Might pick it up when it hits the bargain bins, because MM and the LBP community are very clever!
Wow, cannot believe this game is out tomorrow.

The hype for this game has been...well...pretty well non-existent.
Man, that would be cool.
^ Yeah, that's what I originally thought. That would have been very tempting, so many good memories from TR I and II. I played the original not too long ago and was still fairly impressed with it.

I love my nostalgia.
I've barely played 5 games in 2010 that were made in the same year. But from what I can remember, I played:

God of War III
GT5
Amnesia: Dark Descent
Bioshock 2
FFXIII (Haven't played it yet, but I'll add it to make up a top 5).

I would say that I 'enjoyed' Amnesia the most. Having never played the Penumbra series before, it felt fresh and it definitely scared me to death every time I played it. And for a measly 20 bucks, it was awesome value.
Going to pick up Machinarium for US$2.99.

Hope it's as good as the reviews say.
Any one noticed the ghosting in the licenses are different after the update?

They seem to not update to your best lap time. It's really quite annoying.
^ Did you play Bioshock?

Bioshock was an experience game. Its world was just so damned cool that it didn't even matter that it wasn't the perfect game.

Back on Uncharted...I doubt they could top the collapsing building scene. Now THAT was truly awesome!
Oh my goodness, I did NOT know that you could install game data on the HDD for Tekken 6.

Maybe I have been whingeing about the load times for nothing. I hope so!
^ You really should post a picture of this "hottest females i have ever seen..."

Otherwise we just won't believe it! Haha. icon_smile.gif
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
Damn you el_supraman for putting me onto zavvi!!!

Went onto the site with no intentions of buying anything and got reeled in for:

FF13(PS3): 9.95 pounds
Bioshock 2: Rapture Edition (PC) - 9.95 pounds

Plus 4.98 pounds for delivery.

Ends up a fraction less than AUD40!
I have the PAL version - Very sure it was on the disc right off the bat.
Shocked over his death. I saw a doco on his life tonight on the Bio channel and apart from being a hilarious actor, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

It is a shame that he hadn't done any comedy roles of late - I really miss his work whenever a crap spoof movie comes out (ie vampires suck etc etc).

I'll always remember him as one of my favourite comedic actors. And like somebody said earlier in this thread, I can't believe how old he was.
