360 has been out longer, and has a larger install base - when it first came out, the games were nearly all $110-$120. Give it time and the PS3 games will probably drop to the same price as the 360 ones. Or maybe Sony is charging extra for games with a rumble feature. icon_wink.gif
I would like to see something along the lines of PoP on XBLA, but that IS what I expect. Maybe a sequel will still ship with the original game as a bonus.

They'll live it down if the game is as good as they promised. That's a big call though...

Having the benefit of playing WoW AND KoTOR, I can't help but be excited. I don't think making an MMO is an easy cash-in, MMO's aren't exactly cheap to make and it's not going to be easy to break WoW's stranglehold on the genre...
I don't think that many people were too excited about a Warcraft MMO 4 years ago, but that worked brilliantly. Anybody who's played it, gets it.
The Bioware pedigree should guarantee quality, I'd be hugely excited if it was a Mass Effect MMO too.

I will be importing this game from NZ. I am 31 years old, and do not like being told what games I can and cannot play by some out of touch old coot (Actkinson) who does not appreciate the obvious logic that a ratings system on par with movie releases, and indeed video game releases for the rest of the world, would be more effective if enforced than denying adults the choice to determine what games they wish to play. This goes against our fundamental rights as a free people, as adults. The OFLC are very inconsistenet with their ratings, Ninja Gaiden was censored, NG2 was not. It is more violent than Dark Sector, which was banned. Mark Echo was banned because of the graffiti, whereas GTA San Andreas was released with graffiti and graphic violence.
As a parent, I see the need for an R18+ classification: I don't want my kids buying GTA23 until they are mature enough to play it. As an adult, I do not wish to be denied games based on the fact that they have been deemed inappropriate for children.
Is it possible for the gaming industry and community to call for a vote of no-confidence in the SA Attorney General?

Last I heard, it is. PS3 was going to ship with 1080p textures, whereas they were worried about fitting that into the XBLA size limit.
Well at least it has a party system. I didn't mind the demo, but I'm worried that there won't be anybody online, moreso after BFBC ships later this month. It's a pity, I was really looking forward to this.
I will only buy C3 if it's worth 800MP by itself. I really have a problem with this sort of thing: Halo 3 beta with Crackdown, GoW2 content with UT4, etc. Even though Crackdown was a great game, it is just an expensive marketing exercise for consumers. BFBC, COD4 and soon Endwar all have a fairer system of closed public beta testing in which you aren't charged or forced to purchase a game that you otherwise might not buy.

You get used to the controller, it takes about one marathon session with Halo to start playing decently, more practice over time to become good. IMHO the only 2 things you can do on PC that you can't do on consoles are WoW and word processing.
What about Civ Revolution? Doesn't it come out at the end of the week? I hope it hasn't been delayed.

I didn't understand the hype for this game, it does look generic. PS3 doesn't need a "Halo-killer", it needs Gran Turismo. I hate the term Halo-Killer, besides COD4 has beaten Halo 3 in almost every way and it's multi-format.

I don't expect it to re-invent the wheel, I'm actually looking forward to a good PS3 showcase game and would probably accept this as it is. As long as it's not a step back from the 1st game (gameplay-wise) it should still be a lot of fun.
I'm actually getting sick of the gimmicky FPS's (and 3rd person games too), adding a "unique gameplay element", and then making every encounter dependant on using it. I mean Halo 3 and COD 4 are both generic FPS's but done so well that you really don't mind.
It's a pity, I want to buy a PS3 for this and MGS4. I loved the first Killzone, despite the mediocre reviews which unfairly compared it to Halo.

I wonder if it's because it will compete with other titles on PS3, or if they know that GoW2 will slaughter it on metacritic?

No matter what sort of spin Sony put on things, there are still more 360's out there and the 360 has a better software library. The PS3 needs it's Sony-specific IP's to actually be released, not just promised then delayed over and over again. (Gran Turismo on PSP? Home? Little Big Planet?). I'll buy one when there are good games on the shelves, not just in development.

It really doesn't matter whether Wii Fit or GTA4 on 360 sell more units, the fact is we have two amazingly popular (and fun) titles released around the same time. That's good.

I loved the concept, but the game was terrible and broken.
Using the power of the PS3? The original used the power of the PS1, which is a bit lousy for an Xbox 360 game. Worst timed Xbox 360 exclusive ever!

I think that all the 12yo Sony fanboys will vote Yes, even though they are afraid that touching a 360 controller will make their hands sizzle. Having said that, they don't need to stack the votes, the failure rates will be huge. At least they ship new ones out quickly. I'm on console #3, no RROD - first one had a dodgy DVD that stopped reading, and scratched circles in my discs (yes that was a REAL issue), and the video card fritzed on the 2nd one - sound worked fine, no red rings, no picture either. 3rd times the charm!
I loved PoP, so I'm a little dubious about the changes. It seems like they made Assassin's Creed too similar to PoP, and have had to take PoP in a new direction to counter that. Hope it works better than the change of direction in SC:Double Agent.

I'm sorry, but as in real life, a rocket launcher always beats somebody singing a Pink song. My wife loves Singstar and it's alright after a few drinks, but just like most people who play this game, I sound like crap.
On the bright side, we don't have American Idol Encore in Aus, on the downside we do have High School Musical on the Wii.

I think that there is more variety in console RTS controls, so it does take a while to feel comfortable with the controls while PC gamers only have to work out whether to use the right or left mouse button to move. I'm at a stage where I'm pretty used to the 360 controls now and I'm having a blast with it. Having said that, I enjoyed C&C3 and LOTRBFME on 360 too, so if you liked those games you'll probably like this too. Also, don't forget to turn the magnetism to high in the options, makes it a lot easier to play and doesn't get in the way like the high magnetism setting did in C&C3.
Personally, I prefer to play this and C&C3 on console, but that's probably because I'm used to the controls and prefer the big HDTV.

Sony want to maintain their profit margins, but now they have to pay Immersion for the rumble tech. They tried screwing Immersion out of their money and it didn't work, so now it's the consumers turn. Import away!
After my pay rise this month I was going to get a PS3, but I might hold off until they ship with a DS3 now.
I have it on Wii and GC, it's a brilliant game. Hope they do bring it out, but I'm really looking forward to RE5. Maybe RE0 on 360/PS3?
I haven't got a PS3 yet, but I would expect the MP experience to be as good as Xbox Live, only without the game-independant friends list. I used to have a PS2 and a Xbox 1, and my MP time was divided between the two. In some ways, back then the PS2 was less laggy because of the ability to browse just Australian games.
Hope it gets patched for you guys soon, I have the 360 version but haven't even played MP yet.
I think that PS3 users shouldn't expect a unified online experience yet, but MP should still be playable. Makes you wonder about the play testing...

Given the sales figures for the HD-DVD add-on, I doubt they will release a blu-ray player as an expansion, or in a console.
The next xbox however, will probably have blu-ray.
