^ Got a text from EB Games saying my pre-order will be available tomorrow!

Do you plan to resign for a 2year contract? My friend signed up on Optus who offered white/black sgs2 for $49/month with no handset repayments. Spewing considering I'm on 59/5pm and I only signed up not 3 months ago. *edit* seems it WAS a limited time offer. All I can find is $59/month plans*
It was a limited offer during the last week of September only.

---

I'm personally looking to get the Samsung Omnia 7 (WP7) with Optus - $29/month for a 1-year contract only! (only available online at Optus, not in-store). I'm still rockin' a Nokia E71 so i'm happy to try out WP7/Mango for a year and by the time that finishes, the real iPhone 5 and hopefully Galaxy S III will be out icon_razz.gif

Awesome value at $44 and you get Fruit Ninja for free.
No way! Is it a DLC code? I have to buy GS now!
Gunstringer is $28 at Harvey Norman! (catalogue price, so storewide price)

I've played 2 chapters of Gunstringer so far and its really fun but sometimes i find the shooting a little unresponsive. Fruit Ninja in comparison seems a bit too sensitive to my arm movements at time but they're both great games and great value at HN's price.
Regarding the LE with the Gold Wii-mote and CD soundtrack, EB Games' product listing online has updated to show the contents and the price remains $118! ($119.95 in store)
Splinter Cell Trilogy (1 year ago)
Just a heads up that Splinter Cell HD Collection/Trilogy is out now locally and only $49.95 RRP! Picked up a copy from EB Games (strangely not even listed on their site and not listed in the latest JB Games catalogue either).

Unfortunately i can't comment on it further because i don't even have a PS3 yet... icon_razz.gif

Actually http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword/ anyone been to a JBHIFI store to check the price of the limited edition?
I asked at my local JB and they said $149 icon_confused.gif (the guy brought up a document/memo on his monitor which stated the price)

I was hoping it would be ~$120 max based on this Limited Edition product listing at EB Games which still doesn't reveal any info about the LE contents yet...At $120 i'd have been all over this ($80 for the game + $40 for the wiimote = great value IMO), but $150 is too much. Maybe if it also included a gold nunchuk as Karai suggested $150 would be a little more feasible.
Finally finished Fallout New Vegas + DLC (1405/1405) last week after about 120 hours of play! 115 hours spent in my main character's game, then i started a new game with a girl with Luck set to 10 to get the "Courier Who Broke the Bank" and the Caravan card game achievements. Looking forward to the fourth (and final) DLC, whenever its released...

And today i clocked Alan Wake + DLC (1500/1500), nicely landing on 80,000 GS in the process icon_biggrin.gif Probably about 30 hours all up as it requires 2 full playthroughs, and there's heaps of collectibles. Nightmare difficulty was a pain though (in many parts its advisable to just run to the light!), so it was good to be able to go back down to Normal for the DLC achievements.
Re: L.A. Noire (1 year ago)
The 4th DLC case "Reefer Madness" is out on the XBL Marketplace, and through the game itself.

Can anyone confirm if this case is the very last DLC?
Wow IISpacebreakII, that must've taken some time and effort to compile that list!

Instead of doing it per member it might be better/easier listing by game, and only include those games which are somewhat unique in that only a certain number of PALGNers have finished them (so you don't have massive lists for games like NBA 2K6 and Avatar etc). For me i'd say my only truly unique 1000s are Dance Central and LMA Manager 07 (probably because no-one's played the latter icon_razz.gif) and maybe UEFA EUro 08.

But if keeping as is, i have the following to be added to my list:
- Assassin's Creed 2
- Fight Night Round 3
- LA Noire (well soon once the final DLC is out)
- Madden NFL 2009
- Test Drive Unlimited
- Banjo Tooie (Arcade)

Thanks in advance!
I used to frequent the Hyper forums a fair bit quite a while back, they still have the Auction Hut (don't let the name discourage, you can still buy/sell at fixed prices).

You can view the forums w/o being a member, but i think to create new threads in the forum, you need to be a member for a month or something.

EDIT: haha just logged in over there for the first time in ages, i had a few unread PMs from mid 2009! icon_redface.gif
Re: L.A. Noire (1 year ago)
Yeah sorry i was talking about XBL Marketplace, sometimes i forget this is multiplatform forum.

On Xbox its already out, i just downloaded it now through the game.
Re: L.A. Noire (1 year ago)
The 3rd DLC - "Nicholson Electroplating" (Arson Case) - is now available for download for 320 points. Remember to download through the game itself if you've already bought the Rockstar Pass!
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Some Zelda OOT 3D deals:

$47.94 + post at Dick Smith

In store at JB Hi-Fi, they were advertising the game + Official Prima Guide for $59 if you pre-order.
I thought the demo was terrible, so much so that i'm planning to cancel my Balls of Steel pre-order.

The regen health system and only being able to carry 2 weapons at a time really ruin the retro feel of the game. None of the weapons were particularly satisfying to use (i walked towards the shrunken enemies after i used the Shrink Gun on them and Duke didn't stomp them...so maybe you have to 'melee' them?) and the gunship in the mine cart level just seemed to disappear after i destroyed it, no explosion icon_confused.gif

I'll play it over again on the hardest difficulty today, but so far i've been unimpressed. Even Duke's quips and the overall humour in the demo was a little tiresome.
Any word of a demo? (360)
Re: Fallout: New Vegas (2 years ago)
Anyone downloaded Honest Hearts and can provide impressions?
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
Zelda OOT 3D pre-order for $54 at JB Hi-Fi - LINK
Re: Xbox Slim (2 years ago)
I bought my Halo Reach Special Edition 250gb Slim on a whim back in October 2010 i think when i saw it discounted at my local Harvey Norman ($500, RRP was $550 but i sold the copy of the included Halo Reach game for $50 so it really came to $450 for the console with 2 wireless controllers). I was using a 3-year-old Pro console prior to that but there wasn't really any issue with it (except the noise of it which was getting annoying), i just felt like a change icon_razz.gif And it was also good to get 2 extra controllers and also built-in wireless.

I've had no issues with the Slim since, but i've kept the Pro around just in case something does happen to it. The Reach version is a grey/silver matte finish too so no 'dust-magnetism' issues either! It may be worth checking out your local Harvey Norman or Dick Smith stores for this version in case they too are clearing out old console stock.

Friends does anyone know where i can buy a 360 slim reach limited console?
I bought mine from Harvey Norman late last year. They only had one in stock. But i'd suggest a store like Harvey's or Dick Smith.

Actually no! M$ rules dictate that achievements can only be added with paid content for DLC (which is completely insane). So I think the 360 will miss out on further achievements....
Didn't Kinect Sports get Achievements added with FREE DLC recently? Not the Calorie challengers thing that was released last week (because that costs 320MSP), but something earlier in the year.
GAME have always told me they cannot put trade credit towards a gift card/voucher, so i usually put it on a pre-order. Or just use the credit to get MS Points which you could then easily sell off at the same value here.
Checked with my EB re Xbox 360 trade in and they said $25 for the core console and $40 for the 120gb HD = $65 total. And they also said that you must include a controller too icon_confused.gif

GAME states $140 for the 120gb console HERE, but the fine print also states you must include a controller.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands = 1000/1000

Pretty easy, took about 10 hours total. The only troubling ones were those that involved beating the bosses without losing health, and even those were easy because you can spam the Stone Armour upgrade which lets you take hits without losing health. Fun game overall, and much less frustrating than the other POP game in terms of Achievements.

I also finished the Arrival DLC to complete Mass Effect 2 1355/1355. Only took about 2 hours on normal. Pretty disappointing send-off if it was the last DLC ahead of ME3.
Any idea what GAME and EB will give for a Xbox 360 Pro white console (old design) with 120gb HDD but WITHOUT a controller? Assuming you can trade in a console w/o a controller...

The QVB Game is no more. FYI.
Hasn't that been gone for ages? I have no idea where any Game stores are now in the city.
There's still one at Broadway.
Perfect timing with the release coniciding with JB's 20% sale, got it for just over $47!
I picked up Ridge Racer, PES 2011 and Ninendogs/Cats on release but i've been spending most of my time mucking around with the AR character cards, especially at work!

Here's a pic of Mario and co attacking an elephant:

Any idea if other AR characters cards (like Luigi, Bowser, Peach etc) are currently available or will be made available soon? Even though the poses are limited, its fun playing around with them, and i'd happily pay for more characters in the future.
At JB Hi-Fi, all launch games are $59 each (except PES 2011 which is $69)

At Target, all launch games are $55 each (including PES 2011)
At The Good Guys:

I pre-ordered with them about a 2 weeks ago when they had the same deal but also included a free Expedition Case too. Also, by putting down a cash deposit, they gave $10 off the price (so $337 total).

The racing game shown is Ridger Racer btw, not Assphalt icon_razz.gif
