Re: Battlefield 3 (1 year ago)
Hey guys. Any prospective jet pilots looking into how to improve themselves, I uploaded a full unedited round of me flying the jet on caspian border. I showcase an impromptu landing when my friend calls me on skype and ruins my recording audio, then take off again, few helicopter and jet kills, one jeep kill, and one kill with a guy parachouting out of the jet I just disabled.

Final score was 18 - 0. Was an average match but the othersides AA was not as effective this round so this was sorted handed to me.

like, dislike, comment or not I don't care, its there for those who want to see how a decently skilled pilot flies in bf3.

For anyone who took part in last weekend's beat, BW have said the client will be patched for launch of the full game:

http://www.swtorhub.com/beta-client-be-patched-launch

Makes me wish I'd d'loaded it now.
Sweet merciful lord. Thought I'd have to download another 20 gigs lol.
The first two hours I was unconvinced. I found the environments and gameplay medciore and bland at best. But where this game really excels is character progression. I haven't felt this connected with my own character in a long time, the fact that there is a cutscene and dialogue between before and after every quest, and several in a dungeon or "flashpoint" truley makes this game. Oh and once you get more and more abilities you start to feel really bad ass like you really are some hero of the republic/empire. Once you get immersed its easy to push aside this games different graphic style or gameplay, and start to enjoy both for what they are.

Currently a level 12 commando, let me just say the game also gets alot better once you hit level 10 where you can do PvP and intiate your advanced classes. Loving the dark side choice options, specially where I got to eject an entire engineering republic bay in order to save the republic ship for *the greater good*, best part was my comrades in my party had to live with the decision. icon_smile.gif

As far as I know, group decisions are decided by a random dice roll between the members, whoever gets highest has their option chosen. If you like dragon effect or mass effect, you will love this game. It has a crap tonne of content with essentially 8 main characters (4 class types per faction) with each having a different character story progression. I can see myself possibly buying this but not sure if I want to get back into the MMO scene, however it looks like it caters for casuals, there is a lot of pick up and play oozing out of this, and thats not a bad thing at all.

Probably a must play for star wars fans, at least for the first free month.

e: oh and the fact i could make my guy overweight chris farley style was also great. Loving my overweight black mowhawk corrupt republic evil human trooper. How he got into an elite squadron of republic commandoes is beyond me, but it just pops a smile on my face when i think about it. icon_razz.gif
The beta commences for me 3am Saturday my local time!!! Just so happens my sleeping pattern is screwed up enough to coincide with said time. icon_smile.gif

Y U NO BUY? U JUMP ON BANDWAGON NAO!!

But seriously, do it.
Once you kill the first dragon I think thats when they start spawning, because I did like 3 quests, and once I killed the dragon I deviated off the main quest line for like the entire 25 hours of my current total play time haha. In that time I must have killed somewhere around 10-20 dragons.

Now level 37 with a full dragon armor set and daedric sword, fully enchanted up the arse and a sexy mage armor set to go with when I feel like playing caster - and only NOW am I touching the main quest again. This game is so expansive, I know I'll definitely start over again due to the perk limit and try something different, and once the mods start rolling in who knows the limits of this game.
No way. I love it, when I found out about the MGS HD collection I died and went back to heaven. It may turn into something hideous in the future but at this point at time it seems fine and under control to me.

If anything I have no idea why they don't just remake FF7 in HD, thats just like instant money there with its insane cult following. Personally I'd like to see FF8 in HD, but one can dream. icon_sad.gif

I've been meaning to buy the Shadow of colussus and Ico remakes but totally forgot about it, going to order off ebay right now infact!
As someone who could never get into oblivion or morrowind, bethseda have pulled off this time for greater mass appeal I reckon. Absolutely loving it.

Although I'm gonna start trying to avoid playing for super long sessions, I just had a 4-5 hour one and by the end of it I just found my self rushing about without stopping to smell the flowers and immersing myself before. My favourite thing about this game is the music, some of the best atmospheric music I have ever heard in a video game - music of a game is usually one of the high priorities of mine when it comes to gaming , after gameplay of course icon_razz.gif.
Dear Client

As you probably have heard already the Russian Version of Skyrim is Region
blocked and can only be played in Russia.

Given this situation we will refund everyone who ordered Sykrim from us 100%
of his money, please understand that this will take a little time since we
are talking about many orders, we hope to be finished with everything within
24 maximum 48 hours from now.

We are working on getting a EU Version and will obviously let everyone know
as soon as we have details about it.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused and hope to still have you back as
a customer in the future.

Regards,

The one thing that makes me decided between getting the PC or console copy of a game.

The **** pieces of **** that use hacks. Why even have punkbuster at all?
I rarely see hackers in my games, if ever. In fact the only time I ever saw it was in beta. Rest assured that guy will probably get banned. Also don't be suprised by crazy ratios like 45-2. Its a battlefield game, you can stay alive for long stretches of time if you got a great squad or you utilise kits off the ground. Vehicles will permit for scores such as these, although 115-2 is pushing it so I would agree thats hacks right there lol.

Still a practically non-existant problem on my end. Don't give in to the prejudice, its silly.
I also got my MW3 key from int keys. I bought it today around 2pm and got it by 6pm. Pretty good and a damn good price, I would never have bought MW3 otherwise , it aint damn worth $100 or $60 but I'll happily shell out 30. Only because its MW2.5. icon_smile.gif

Be careful though that you actually use a ukraine VPN as they instruct otherwise you may find that the game may be revoked from your account or the key made invalid. Will probably get skyrim from there too, but no sense in buying it now when I got this and BF3 to occupy my for ages lol.
Anyone know of a reliable site that will sell the CD key for non-Aus retail prices? I just want a key to add to steam, and I sure as hell ain't payin $100 AUD for it lol.
I don't get all the hate with battlelog. I myself have been victim to some niggling problems, this has happened twice already but for a while I would just stay on Joining Server..., othertimes I couldn't start co-op with a friend, however the fix was this to simply disable my anti-virus temporarily.

At first I found it a very awkward and strange tool, I mean why wouldn't there be a traditional server browser IN game as there always has been? The fact is, I've noticed that the battlelog allows alot more sociable interactivity between other players, especially random players who you meet in game, than oppossed to previous BF titles. I've already added a few players who I have squadded up with in some games that we have done really well together, thanks to battlelog they have made such a process really easy and stream lined. The stats is a great epeen archive, you may not care about it, but many do, and its also a great indicator as to how a player usually plays and how well they do it, a useful tool for those who are trying to put together a competitive team.

Battlelog seems to be quite stable nowadays say compared to when the game was in beta. I'll be honest after the jet mission I pretty much put the singleplayer down and have invested 40 hours into the multiplayer since release, haha! (Cursed battlefield, will probably fail my subject icon_sad.gif ) The singleplayer was indeed tacked on and I consider it as a freebie, afterall who buys battlefield for the singleplayer, hell BF2 didn't have a campaign heh.

I've been victim of the client-side registration bug myself a few times, but it hasn't been has prevalent for me ever since I started playing the game since release. It seems like it was more prevalent in the beta than it was in release, possibly due to the fact that metro is a tight infantry map (and yes I agree the 64player conquest version is a right joke). While it was frustrating in the beta, for some reason I've not found it as much of a problem in the release, I don't know what else to say about that, it just hasn't been a problem for me and my only issues with gameplay is rubberbanding, which seems to have mostly been fixed now.

You say Operation Firestorm Rush map on 64 players would be silly and imba, I believe this without a doubt, but as far as I am aware the rush maps weren't intended to be played with 64 players. Even when I search the filter now for 64 player rush servers there are very few and for good reason, they were made for 32 players max in mind, 64 would definitely make it one huge cluster fuck. Those kind of servers to me are akin to 32 player matches on 16p maps, tight, spammy and silly.
Re: Battlefield 3 (1 year ago)
Like said before, origin isn't intrusive at all and it doesn't clog up my system or anything, my only nuance with it is that it seperates my games from steam icon_sad.gif.

I've grown to battlelog, its a nice way to check out your own stats as well as others to gauge how they play, which is important when looking for a team of players for competitive play, of course nothing beats trialing a member right up front and see'ing him/her (HAH who are we kidding women in internetz?) in action. All in all a nice addition, and in between games I can multi task with whatever, youtube, forums, epeen stats whoring.
Re: Battlefield 3 (1 year ago)
The IR scope is stupid OP, put it onto a high rate of fire weapon with alot of rounds like say the oh uh M249!!!!.. and you will just ****.

Curious to see what happens when everyone on every server gets wind of the IR's effectiveness and everyone has pseudo-ESP hacks.

Re: Battlefield 3 (1 year ago)
If you guys want a digital download that doesn't require proxies or anything just buy directly from http://www.greenmangaming.co.uk/games/shooter/battlefield-3-limited-edition/.

My mate just did it and he didnt have to use any proxy at all, make sure that you do go to the .uk site however as this deal doesn't appear on the US site. The conversion according to xe.com/ucc is $52, better than $80 from origin.

Despite saying it is a pre-order, they will simply give you a key anyway once you buy it, add it to origin and as far as I know its unlocked for us aussies now anyway. If it isn't just use a US or korean IP they have it unlocked now.

As for the game itself, lots of rubberbanding lag on all servers , some have it more frequent than others and it seems sort of dependant on the map. This wasn't existant during the beta, or wasn't as prominent anyway, strange to see it now. Once they patch that hopefully this will be close to perfect gaming (close to perfect because the coms rose is just dreadful, more like comms block, clearly rushed haha)

Woot this is awesome, can now finally utilise my favourite class to its maximum potential, the engineer.

I was never a big fan of using rockets on infantry, sometimes it was called for but they were really made for pwning armour icon_smile.gif

Yeah I'm kind of getting sick of the beta too. 80% of players are idiots that have no idea what they're doing, making it incredibly easy to get in the top 3 or so but it's really just a big illusion of skill that feels very shallow to me. Also hit rego and bugs are really pissing me off, I'll be surprised if they've fixed the hit rego by release though.
Haha oh man so true about people not knowing what the hell the are doing. By the third stage we were losing and I just lost it when I realised up to this point I was the only person who continually kept planting the bomb. However sometimes I get some good teams so that balances it out.

The hit rego fails indeed, especially about what denny said when you run into cover but die anyway 2 seconds later. However, I buy into DICE's story about this being old code and that release should have fixed the majority of bugs, overall I am still pretty excited for a good release of BF3.

Hackers do not suprise me since I don't think punkbuster is even enabled in the beta. Think back to BC2 and how effective punk buster was. I think I could count on ONE hand the amount of times there was a hacker in my server that was succesfully playing, infact its hard to remember a time when there ever was one. What I did see was alot of notifications in the server log about players being banned for multi-hacks and what not. I've over 230 hours played in BC2 and hackers was never issue.

I expect the same of BF3 when Punkbuster is up and running, and by the end of all of this I think to myself that beta is beta, I enjoy playing it (when there aren't any hackers or my team isn't smokingly retarded) and look foward very much so to its release.
definitely like the end icon_smile.gif
It really is the same game as CoD4 and MW2.

Seriously will not buy.
So how many books are there? I should start reading them
Just finished season one (theres only 10 eps right??). Bloody awesome, most favourite series ever now icon_razz.gif

Love the dwarf dude, he steals every scene he is in. Boromir is awesome, and don't you dare correct me, he will forever be boromir to me icon_razz.gif. hell the whole cast is awesome.

So I'm planning to start going to the gym. The only problem is I have no idea what to do to achieve my goal, which is to gain muscle and probably just get fitter in general.

I'm a pretty short guy at 165 and sitting on 66kg, don't really want to go to the gym and end up losing weight though.

I've heard protein shakes are pretty good but there seems to be a lot out there. Any pointers?
Protein is protein mate. Don't believe the bullshit about 16% more muscle mass, really stupid. In fact tuna/steak/chiken, meat like that is sufficient enough.

Protein powder is for when you didn't eat much protein that day pretty much, or strapped for cash and protein happens to be a cheaper option than whole foods.

In short, whole foods > protein powder. You won't lose weight if you consume more calories than you burn. Stay away from machines if you can, some are handy but all in all they are not optimal. Free weights are your friend, research excercises that work certain muscle groups.

Compound excercises are golden, i.e. free weight bench press, squat, dead lift. Learn these with alot of research and help from gym staff. If you want your gym efforts to directly translate into actual strength gains for every day life, again, stay away from machines. Free weights utilise what are known as stabiliser muscles. Again, research this more.

You should determine a schedule for your gym workouts. Each day should work a different muscle group. E.g. Monday - Back and biceps, Tuesday - Chest and triceps, Wednesday - Shoulders and traps, Thursday - Legs, le etc. Again, research this. Heres an easy mode guide, http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kris-gethin-12-week-daily-trainer-week-1-day-1.html. Read through the first week to get what i mean.

Hope that helps.
At first I thought this game was terribly optimised because I was getting 1-30 fps on medium settings! I was thinking how the hell can this be since I was running 2 x 570's in SLi and smashed every other game.

Then I realised I was the idiot and hadn't updated my nVidia drivers since around february (lol 4 months out of date) and lo and behold I could run the game at ultra smooth as hell. With ubersampling it drops a bit but its not unplayable per say, but I like to play my games really smooth so I turned that off.

This game is gorgeous looking and gives me eyegasms. Loving the music, voice acting and story so far, just finished the prologue. Fantastic game can't wait to get "into the mood" so I can play this game in big chunks and really take it in. icon_smile.gif

I play it with a 360 controller after a friend suggest I do so, and it did indeed feel more natural. (I don't even play with my brothers 360 and it felt more natural than laying with a keyboard lol) That being said it might have been the lag because I haven't played with the keyboard/mouse after the new nVidia drivers.

This is a must buy for all PC gamers, and I hope this makes it to consoles and becomes mainstream because gamers alike cannot miss out on this.
full time uni student doing mech eng 2nd year, although after only getting passes and stuff I've decided to take next 6 months part time uni while working as a tradesman assistant at a coal sampler assembly factory my dad co-owns with some other engineers.

Not sure what else I will do there but eitherway I think its good to know what its like to work in "low-end" of the industry before I start working as engineer. I hope this experience makes me enthusiastic as ever next year and start pwning up my uni grades icon_biggrin.gif
