I was thinking about flash, but the main problem there is I wouldn't be able to install flash at work, and hell I doubt it would even run if I could.
I don't mind Python, but I wouldn't create a freaking game/project in it. We just use it with WAF for our build process.

Soon when I move out, I will be with an ISP that does not provide free webhost but I have a site that needs a home.
I currently have a portfolio website and it needs a new home but it isn't a core to a business or something, it was a project to develop web development skills (because my university kept cancelling programming units due to lack of interest) and I later decided to give it a presence on the web. Future features include blogging to provide tips for female university students with working in the ICT industry.
Just recently put myself in a home loan, money will become tight very soon and I wish to not having to spend on a webhost if possible.
Are the free webhost "safe"? (to me, free sounds too good to be true). I am looking at Tumblr and apparently it is customisable, can I use the free to do blogging and have pages for my project portfolio and other info?
This may sound silly but I don't know why part of me wants a webhost. I suppose it is because at work, I maintain a Linux and multiple windows servers, I just somehow can't thinking myself into a non-webhost alternative to my problem.

Also, a co-op Half Life experience would be lovely.
As much as I sven co-op, I really don't want Valves story based games to move in this direction. I just don't feel the same feeling of immersion playing with someone else that I would get in a single player experience.
I don't have any time atm for one of these game grids, so I will go back into hiding/coding land.

Anyway, we drink once every fortnight or so, and are going to start ordering and working our way through different types of Nihonshu. So that will be a lot of fun
On the topic though, I know people that don't drink and it generally can be awkward when the rest of the group is. As many of you have already stated, I feel that people can make there own decisions as long as it doesn't affect anyone negatively.

Same JA, I generally cook most things with 'thats a bout right' measurements and just WTF with the microwave. Why microwave water when you can generally boil it?
This may sound horrible to some, but my favourite way to prepare noodles is to put the noodles in a bowl and then add grated tasty cheese and tomato sauce. I don't usually eat noddles so its a rare thing but it definitely tastes amazing!

Re: The Birthday Thread (2 years ago)
Its my birthday today, I am now 21! At least now I don't have to complete all those learner hours and can hopefully get my P's soon.
Anyway, not doing anything special. Probably will just have the family around on the weekend.

Nope! They've announced its not using Gamebyro. I assumed they were, as Todd said not long ago that their next game would be using technology similar to Fallout 3, so I dont know what has changed or if they were talking about something completely different.
Gamebryo isn't that bad and what Bethesda used was so split from Gamebryo that it was barely like what Emergent had.
Looking forward to the game, I had a feeling this would be announced soon when looking at what Bethesda were working on a few months back...

I think going to the QLD and NZ offices will make up for that.

For those who bought the PSP Go from Fishpond... Not only does the 10 free game promotion work, but I just received my code via email less than 24 hours after registering!
Gonna load up some of the games I have put on it now, a bit disappointed that the PSP store has no Lumines :'(
Best game for the PSP IMO, I hope Sony can get it for the Go.
Re: Your newest purchase (2 years ago)
I have missed a few here that I will fill in later...
But just received the PSP Go from Fishpond for $159.97.
And to put LeonJ's fears to rest the device was sealed in original packaging and bubbled up with air padding. The device as well was in perfect brand new condition without a fingerprint or Dead Pixel
.
I am really happy with this order and can't wait to play some of the PSP Games I have missed out on in the last year or two.
Thanks again lexielab for pointing this out and thank you Fishpond

I'm more worried that it hasn't shipped. I seem to have ordered it before these guys...
Although some other orders have taken about 8 hours for them to say shipped. You should be fine they say it should take up to 24 hours for them to ship it out.
The Admin fee is a bit bizarre though. I paid with Visa as well and received no fee :S

Thanks for the heads up on the PSP Go lexielab, grabbed one before the price changed
Did the price increase because it was a mistake or because they wanted to clear a certain amount?

Thanks heaps. Any chance you have a list of accessories, for example the 360 mics?
Also, I bought the 360 controller bundle on Saturday for $50 and now GAME have it for $28. Will DS give me a refund if I return? Or will they price match a price not available when I bought it? Thanks.

Re: Pre-E3 2010: Revealing Microsoft Kinect (2 years ago)
I agree and I am presenting these ideas as my main research project for my course (Head tracking/Eye tracking used for player immersion).
Personally I don't have an issue with the control scheme of the 360 currently. I believe that with Kinect hitting the market we can add sensory component to the machine to change the way the game will interact with you, such as looking at an enemy in a stealth game the wrong way and triggering a confrontation.
As Alex said above the use of something like the AI director in Left 4 Dead, combined with some emotion detection from Kinect could add a lot to a game.
Kinect has a lot of potential, but mainly as a secondary control mechanism/accessory.

Hard games
It's a deal breaker for me! I lose interest straight away when I get stuck because I usually don't have the skill necessary to pass a tough part, or an interest in getting better at it, and it stops being fun at that point anyway...
I play games to experience them and enjoy them! not to repeat a section over and over until I get lucky.
le sigh.
I play games to experience them and enjoy them! not to repeat a section over and over until I get lucky.
I always have it in my mindset to play on normal as I feel thats the intended experience level, even if I get to a point in the game thats frustrating like you stated before and quit. Its funny because I know that lowering the difficulty for that certain part will allow me to pass it, but I just wont do it. I was just wondering if this is a general gamer attitude, or something different.
