Its one of those releases were you cant wait to get home, dim the lights, pump the surround, crack open a beer and just enjoy the ride.

I guess its just the way gaming is going but it just feels like there are less and less great story driven adventures being released. Which makes the times when a game like this one comes around so much more exciting!
Eurogamer review is up 10/10!!!!

Bravo Naughty Dog, Bravo!!!!
Jumped into the PALGN game last night, and i must say what a blast! Even though most of you dudes were owning me, it was one of the funnest sessions i had been involved in.

I dont get to jump on and post hear too often but i must say the sense of community that has built up for this game is awsome, i think at one point there was about 15 dudes all with the PgN in front of there name which was great to see!

Well done on setting it up as well Denny, hopefully there is many more sessions to come!

Well considering most previews and reviews on the game stated, Oh this is like COD4 online, this has COD4 controls, this is the next best online FPS to COD4 on PS3. Hell, I've had more fun online with Resistance 2.

Its kinda hard not to get hyped up for it (considering how I much I love COD4), when you have constantly read that.

I've just had a **** time with it and am ranting my frustrations, so sorry if I have annoyed anyone.
I felt that initial frustration as well, it was a lot harder online then COD4, but i just could not understand why! Like it was not rare to string a 7 killstreak together in COD4, but in KZ2 i was finding it hard to get 2 kills in a row let alone 7!

I just kept cracking away and i am addicted now, and am finding alot easier to rack up good scores. I guess its just getting used to it.
My thoughts are fairly similar to every one else. SP is awsome, i have gotten used to the controls (after changing them) and it is just intense set piece after intense set piece. I know every one has said it, but WOW the graphics really are amazing.

Have just started cracking into MP and i thought the layout and menus all felt fairly polished and intuitive, the lack of Free for all is an odd one though.

The main let down for me is the lack of CO-OP, this game really did seem perfect for it, and is there any Split screen death match??

Overall a really polished intense experience so far!
Please stop using that f@#king "PS3 is starved of quality titles" call, it took a while (like any system) but there are plenty of quality exclusive titles that cover almost every genre on the PS3.

As for this game, i agree with LeonJ, as far as loving a really polished, intense experience and thats something this game looks like it will offer in the bucket load. Which makes it a day one for me. I was suprised by how positive the response was for the multiplayer, which is a big plus.

The sales will be very interesting to watch, Sony will be waiting with baited breath for the reults. Because if this game fails to sell big numbers like alot of other "big" PS3 exclusives e.g LBP, they will have to wonder what the f#@k they are doing wrong! You would have to think by know they have the install base to run big numbers ala gears.
Where are all these reviews stating that the gameplay is average? Not having a dig at all, just curious to read them.
Ill be a first day buyer, so ill be in for sure! I had a blast online with the first game so i cant wait to get this one.
Just watched the dvd, and am up to the first save point. So far i think the game is great, controls well and the story is so immersive i am loving it. I did read in some reviews that the game is not really scary, well i can say i have nearly shat myself about three times already! Its not just the usual alien jumps out at you scares either, just the overall mood of the game is great, so exploring just an empty room still has you on the edge of your seat.

Just a side note for people playing on PS3, there was a quick install at the start for trophies. I have not unlocked any yet so i cant say for sure, i didn't know there was a patch being released.
About time they start releasing songs that will actully make people buy singstar(or just good songs in general)! It looks like they are starting to put a little bit more effort into the PS3 version.
Re: Siren: Blood Curse (4 years ago)
I take it the Japan/Asia version has an English language option?
No, my EB was sold out as well. Dude the funny thing is they told the same crock of shit story to me as well, the manager said "we'll put you down for the standered edition then let you know when we find out about our stock allocation for the SE". Went in a week later and "sorry man all sold out".

It just seems very suss, like i know this is a big release but for every EB to be sold out! Then you add the fact that according Kotaku the SE is exclusive to EB, i cannot understand why Konami or Atari would do this!

Though say if i was to import the US Special Edition, would the special features Blu-Ray be region coded or would i be sweet to watch it on my pal PS3?

Any way ive had my little bitch, it really is just very poor form for such a big release to have such confusion around its Special Edition by retailers when its only a month away from launch!
Good on Sony, but by far the best news of that article is the confirmation that Play TV is comming to Australia. I was worried that it might not make our shores.

Hopefully they have a specific crash engine for James. icon_razz.gif

He was in the last game so hopefully he is in there again, though I'm happier that we have RC this time, even if no JS.

Dude, brilliant call! Great to see someone into the sport! Quick question dude, what version of the demo did you download. I got the PS3 version, and it has a massive amount of screen tearing. My limit is out so getting the 360 demo is a no go for a few weeks.
^When i downloaded the demo, the icon was a Yamaha with #22, so Chad is in. Cheaked on the official site and Carmichael is in as well which is cools as the last game he was in was MX Superfly. Dont know about Stewart, i doubt it because they didnt mention him, but he's a pussie anyway icon_cool.gif
Just finished it the other night. It really is a brilliant game, i guess the noteworthy aspects for me were:
1. Graphics really are brilliant, the enviroments in the game are really diverse from world to world and the character models look good.
2. The pacing was great, felt just the right length and never felt flat or like is was dragging on.
3. Gameplay is great, if you have played previous R&C games you'll be right at home, and newcomers well be comfortable straight away.

I think in the end the best thing about this game for me is that it is just a blast to play and has moved to my fav of the serious. Highly recomended.
^ My thoughts exactly! On previous games i think i spent obout 95% just racing the supercross and the outdoors and 5% on everything else. Another nice touch was the practice arena during loading times, hopefully that carries throught to online, so when your waiting in the lobby for a race to start you can be just kicking it around the practice arena.
Quality review Luke, i really cant wait to play this game and see those visuals in action. My only gripe with the game is that i just wish it was a bit longer, but by the sounds of it, should have decent replay value.
Just downloaded from US PSN. I was also a huge fan since the early days of the series, and am fairly impressed with its next-gen debut. Graphics are nice, and gameplay in the supercross is best so far, scrubbing to stay low doesnt work quiet as well as i hoped it would but overall a must buy for me! Any word on Aus release date yet?
^ It would not just have the same battery as the SIXAXIS. It would have to be improved to compensate for the extra juice the rumble uses. I do remember hearing one of the reasons for the controller taking so long was because they were struggling to get decent battery life out of the DualShock 3. It will be interesting to see the battery life though, Unchated will be a good test as it was developed with rumble from the start, and it seems to be incorporated a fair bit.
^ Dude couldnt agree more, take it back to the old school i say! I think people have just become acustomed to easy games, so when a game with old school difficulty comes along, they cant handle it. E.g Ghost n Goblins on PSP.
Bought mine last night, cant wait to get the rumble back for the ps3. Ill prob get my multi-platform games on PS3 now.

BurnZ, is the controller a little bit bigger then the SIXAXIS as well?
Gamespots review was an excellent read. Even though they gave the game its lowest score i have seen so far, there only really major gripe was how difficult the gunplay can be. They did place a lot of emphasis on how great the visuals were, and i have to admit, after resisting the demo i cant wait to see the game in action.
I really think some people are losing the sight of why we play games!

I think most reviews i have read summerise with "despites its flaws still, one of the funnest games of the year" . Okay the game might not be your "killer app", but for fucks sake, the game looks damn enjoyable. Its just a growing trend for every games thread, if it gets scores below 9 every one has a cry about the one that got away.
Really dudes, is the ps3 worth the money is purley based on personal opinion, its not even worth getting into these pointless tiffs about whos a fanboy and who fucking isnt! Who ever posted this thread look at the games look at what you want out of a console, its not that hard!

To nadsling, yes i hate LeonJ as well, but only because he has 'Pants are optional' i find that fucking hilarious and would love to use it my self, but cant because he has it and that would be an obvious cop-out!

Re: Sixaxis controllers (5 years ago)
^^ I cant remember the exact date but they do come out before X-mas in Japan. In fact they may already be out.
^^^ Cheaked EB and gamesmen today both said Assassins Creed was due 22nd on PS3/360! Also R&C is comming on the 15th, which suprised me because it has held at the 8th on PALGNs list for the last few weeks. EB said the 6th for uncharted and mass effect remained unchanged, which leaves some hard times ahead! R&C will be done and dusted by the 22nd but trying to share the love between Assassins and Mass effect will hurt.

The other hard decision is PS3 or 360 for Assassins, you would think the load times would be better on PS3, which has me leaning that way , but having Mass Effect on 360 means when i switch games i wont have to swap systems, buuutttt.............................................ill shut up. icon_surprised.gif
7.5!!!!! Gamespot must just be trying to become that badass gamesite where everyone is like "Holy shit, they just gave Halo 4 a 5/10 there higest score ever! It just beat MGS 4 score of 4.99/10 they said it was cool but if you look at the teaxtures in the bottom left of the screen in the opening cinimatic on the underside of Master Chiefs foot, they made me nearly choke on my caviare and spit up my fine French red wine!"

Clearly an exaggeration but, like Crestfallen said, Identity W......T.......F!
Overall i thought the game is looking good. As far as gameplay, its the GT i know and love and will be awsome come release. Most people want to know about the graphics and i thought the car models looked amazing, as far as the enviroments go its hard to judge it just off Suzuka. Its an actual race track so obviously the track side detail is going to be fairly bar, gravel traps ect. That being said the little track side detail there was didnt look that great. You think by know that they could make the kitty litter spray in the air or somthing!

Would still like to know when the actual Prologue is due out overhere though?
Re: The Demo Thread (5 years ago)
Just finished the R&C demo. Overall it left me very impressed, im a big fan of the series so my hopes were high for this one. First off its great to see the series back to its platform roots and the gamplay felt great, i do agree with ppjim3 on the camera, it was quiet jerky but was nothing too huge for me. What deserves a big mention is the graphics, they were stunning and the level you play (metropolis) is a massive city and really is awsome to just stop and have a look around at.

Anyone with a US account should grab this one, hopefully your not near your download limit though as it weights in at a hefty 1.6gb!
