Has there been any word of an Australian release for this game? America and Europe already have this, why don't we?
The game is not going to be released locally according to EA/IGN.

Am i missing something here or are the PSP games/software sales so poor in Australia they don't even get a Top 10?
I've got a PSP with CFW and the only game i ever play on it is Hammerin' Hero, which probably could have been done on the DS(albeit with watered down graphics).

I take my DSi with me for my portable gaming fix.
Re: Fat Princes BETA (4 years ago)
I got in the BETA. Just got my code in the mail with times and dates for the event nights. I've been in on every BETA since beta testing Killzone Liberation multiplayer and when i log on playstation network forum i come up as a BETA tester.

"2. You must keep confidential all information relating to the test software and the Beta Tests. You must not discuss the Beta Tests with anyone except us and other people taking part in the Beta Tests (“Beta Testers”). In particular, you must not discuss the Beta Tests with anyone associated with a competing videogame format or publisher, a news or information service (whether television, magazine, newspaper or otherwise) or in any online forum or chat room, other than our official Beta Test forum. Any codes or passwords which give access to test software or Beta Test forums are personal to you and must not be shared with anyone else."

I don't think i can post about it though?
Don't get me wrong . I love Australia and i'm not saying the streets are riddled with crime. To be fair most of the crimes probably don't even occur in the main cities but in the rural areas of Australia. But it's a far cry from being "one of the least violent and criminal places on earth".

http://www.nationmaster.com/red/country/as-australia/cri-crime&all=1

Back on topic, like others have pointed out i don't think the classifications are consistent. IMO the addition of an R rating in gaming classification would relieve most of the inconsistencies.

BTW do the parental controls on consoles actually work or is it just that nobody uses it? lol

Banning guns in our country was a huge step and has added to the fact that we are one of the least violent and criminal places on earth, we don't need anything to even possibly change that.
Less people = less crime. I think you'll find Australia actually have one of the highest crime rates per capita.
Actually for the most part our crime rate remained the same (it did drop a little) but the method of crime merely shifted from gun attacks to knife attacks as the majority. So it has less to do with the population density and more to do with that it was just translated to a different weapon, and of those gun crimes still being committed the majority of those are from licensed guns either being secured improperly or stolen.

Moot point though, the inconsistency with decisions and those in charge either being ignorant of the classification system (looking in your direction Mr Joyce) or unable to change it for whatever reason is just ridiculous as we should not be allowing "human" gratuitous violence and banning "nonhuman" gratuitous violence as this ultimately proves that the system itself is broken.
Crime rate per capita. Nowhere did i say anything about guns or weapons.
My point was simply that this guy has his facts wrong to say we are one of the least violent and criminal places on earth. Hello!? last time i checked, about 30% of our population is a victim of some crime one way or another (again NO MENTION OF GUN - CRIME in general) which drops us to about 1st in the world. I don't see how getting an R18+ rating will change that?

Edit:Spelling

I wouldn't be suprised if the Wii port of Monster Hunter G later this month increases console sales, seeing as it comes with an exclusive MH3 demo.
Re: Nintendo DSi (4 years ago)
The manual references 3 types of cart - DS, DSi compatible and DSi carts. Your right they haven't announced any DSi-only game carts as of yet but it is inevitable. It will happen, we probably won't see them for quite some time and maybe not many of them will go that route so an not to exclude existing DS owners (100 million too many to simply ignore) but remember the DSi has increased clock speed & RAM which could probably be utilized.

Well that's what Nintendo have said.

There will be DSi Enhanced software that has extra features on DSi, and there will also be DSi Only games that require a DSi.
What's your source on the DSi only games? I haven't read that anywhere, and I've never expected it to happen as Nintendo would be severely limiting the sales of such a game. DSi enhanced games make sense to me, not DSi only ones (other than the DSiWare, of course).
They said something about DSi-enhanced and DSi only games during GDC09.

http://au.ds.ign.com/articles/966/966301p1.html

And again Reggie references it in this interview.

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/04/01/nintendos-reggie-fils-aime-talks-dsi-enhanced-games-zelda-spirit-tracks-and-more/

We probably won't be seeing DSi-only carts for awhile, but they are planned (apparently).

This is a joke right? Surely if they've been advertising it it's bound for EU release right?

Looks like COD 4 and Perfect Dark had a baby.

Did anybody else notice the HUD was different in each video? Hope they go with the layout in the second video, it's way better.

Looking forward to this one, just hope it lives up to expectations.
I think they said the HUD is totally customizable.
Re: Nintendo DSi (4 years ago)
A new shape once again unfortunately.
Looks great, been looking forward to this game. Does that mean this game won't be out before E3?

Re: DSi bargain round-up (4 years ago)
Just a heads up, picked up my DSi pre order from JB Hifi in Galleries Victoria and it scanned in at $269! So ended up paying only $269 for Black DSi with a 4gb SDHC.
HES makes the TANK. HES used to publish NES games. Here's some info about them:

I wanna see some Paquiao Vs. Hatton screens.
Re: DSi bargain round-up (4 years ago)
I know it's not official but just a note that people are reporting some EBs (with competition in the same vicinity) are giving up to $149 for DS Lite trade-ins for the above deal.

The small red button was the PS3 "Home" button so yeah, it is functional i imagine it'd be the same for the 360.
^I got the TANK stick a few weeks ago for PS3 though. It works great if you don't mind US style arcade sticks. Uses HAPP parts i think. Buttons are concave, not as sensitive as SANWA but they do spring back. Bat stick uses circular gate (might take time to getting used to if your used to Jap sticks). The box is made of metal or something so it's very rigid and can take a beating (you can stand on the box and it won't break - not that i've tried). There's 4 small suction cups on the bottom so it doesn't move around the table and theres an extra port on it (i think it maybe to connect it to a PC).

I think it replicates the arcade experience. I haven't had any real problems pulling off moves with it. I don't really grab the stick but use the palm of my hand to push the stick forward for forward maneuvers/moves (fireball, dragon punch etc) and curl my fingers round the stick to pull the stick back for backward maneuvers/move (hurricane kick). I think its just a matter of preference.
I just realized. Hahahahaha *sigh of relief*

Hmmmmm.....the age gaming blog says E3 will make it's way to 5 cities including Sydney, and will be open to the public for 1 day in each city. Is this an April Fools joke too? I've always wanted to go to an E3.

Edit: Spelling.

16GB SDHC Class 4 are now around $45-$50 that's pretty cheap IMHO.. http://www.austin.net.au/ProductList/ProductDetail/tabid/104/Default.aspx?ProductCode=MEM-SD4%2f16GBFE
Not bad at all. I was looking at some at JB Hi-Fi when I got my SanDisk 2GB and they cost more than the prices you have found. The only thing stopping me from using SDHC (it would be worth it to me because I could also use it with my laptop) is the fact that it's not compatible for games like Excite Truck, Endless Ocean and Guitar Hero - World Tour that were coded to only read data off SD cards.

It's not so much of a problem as currently, with ALL my Virtual Console / WiiWare stuff onboard the SD card, I still have around 1GB left on the card, so that's great!
JB has a sale on at the moment, i picked up an ordinary Sandisk 4gb SDHC for $19 and they work a treat on the Wii. Were you looking at the Ultra II SDHCs?
I read somewhere not to let it past 10% charge, and that leaving a lith-ion battery uncharged for an extended period of time affects it.
