I've had the chance to play this in focus testing, and it really is a great game. Considering the vast majority of current XBLA games are ports or rehash old games, Raskulls will be a welcome addition. Hell, the highest selling games are Castle Crashers and Braid, and they were originals too. I think Raskulls has a chance of becoming just as popular.
It does? Holy moly.
Reading this article and the criticisms, it makes me realise how good and original the Chronicles of Riddick games are. Well, there's only one out right now, but the sequel should be good too.

Riddick is an interesting character with real dialogue and a cool personality, he can move all kinds of places and it's still a shooter at heart. Lots of itneractivity, different paths and RPG elements - just really ahead of the curve, even today.

Re: Looking at Laptops (5 years ago)
Do you have the model number of the processor?

I paid $1599:

T7500 processor
2GB RAM
250GB 5400RPM drive (your high performance would be 7200RPM)
Same video card
Same battery and screen.

I got mine a bit cheaper because it was a pre-packaged unit. They basically made up a bunch of laptops with whatever components they had left, and sold them off so I picked one up. A good deal, and yours isn't too bad either. The RAM is overkill but no big deal, if you can get the 8600 instead of the 8400 video card, then it would be one pimping system.
Re: Looking at Laptops (5 years ago)
I only have one 6-cell battery at the moment, as I haven't had any need for a larger or additional unit. I've used it as a desktop replacement, really.

The 9 cell is heavier, yes, but the bulge is considered a plus for some people as it make the laptop stand up higher. But yes, it does stick out.

I am a sucker for brightness, so in the few instances I have taken it walkabout, I max out the screen and the battery does not do so well. I'd say get a 6-cell and a 9-cell, if you plan on taking it somewhere, sitting at a table and working without a powerpoint. If you will always have a powerpoint, no 9-cell necessary.

Let me know the specs and price of your chosen unit so I can let you know how it compares to mine.

Even though XP is the smart choice, Vista looks hella sexy on the m1330 and I haven't been able to bring myself to part with it icon_smile.gif

Sony wants the PS3 to last 2 generations.

If they think they can do this, you won't see another Sony console till the generation after next.
What they mean is they want the PS3 to continue to sell and be popular even into the next generation of consoles, much like the PS2 is doing now. They want the PS3 to be a strong market force even when the PS4 or whatever is out.

I never owned one. A guy in my TAFE course bought one when they first came out and brought it to TAFE a lot and tried comparing it to my laptop. He was very vocal about his problems and showed me forums of fellow owners who had also had serious problems.

To be honest Phil you're the only Dell laptop owner I've heard praising their laptop. IBM/Levonos on the other had are top notch laptops and survive the beating even computer illiterate teachers give them. However go with the Dell if you feel that's what you want.
I'm fully aware that Dell has been the source of criticism, and I researched this before picking up the m1330. The m1330 really was a huge leap forward for Dell, and after browsing through notebook forums I learnt about the problems your friend was having, and Dell should take care of them if you encounter such a situation.

My boss also had a 1330, and claims it to be the best laptop he has ever owned. It's my first, and seems to be pretty kickass so far.
Re: Looking at Laptops (5 years ago)
Nickack, those problems you experience must be a minority. The m1330 has been a amssive seller and it has received rave reviews. So, I bought one.

It's great. Small, light, tough and works flawlessly. The trackpad buttons are a little deep, but it's not big deal. I use a mouse anyway. My screen is great, you must have been unfortunate to receive a screen from a poor manufacturer.

If the price is right Neo.Sanity, just go the m1330 right away. No hesitation.

Not letting it outside for the first couple of months is a good idea. Actually, not letting it out at all would be even better.
Why?

Cats can be content as inside pets sure, but it's so much more rewarding to let your cat roam free and enjoy playing outside. When properly trained, it won't need a litter box because it always goes outside, and it knows exactly where it is and can roam free around the neighbourhood.

Our cat does just that, and he's over 12 years old. He'll wander everywhere he wants safely, yet still spends plenty of sleeping, eating and playing time indoors.
EB will take a pre order for GTA VII if you want. They will take any and all of your money as early as possible.

As a final note.......it's just wrong. You don't leave people in the dark.Yeah, i know business and ethics don't mix but......wrong is wrong and rockstar are really showing their true colours.
Not telling people details about an issue they are always going to be irate over does not come close to ethics, it's just a choice. If three little girl were going to die of cancer because Rockstar didn't reveal the details, then sure, ethics would come into play.

They are no more showing their true colours now than they ever have. And what true colours, exactly? Do you think they have been hiding themselves as a heartless organisation that only wants to fuck its fans over this whole time, and now they slipped up and everyone is on to their Nazi ways?
BurnZ wrote
And I'm not gonna get into an argument with you over this, ok?
Too late, hot plate.

You say we should be told what was removed. On the other hand, Jibbs says we should be told what was removed, but not given specific detail. Two different scenarios, and Rockstar doesn't care about either. It's simple to just not tell everyone.

Jibbs, ignorance is not bliss, but asking Rockstar to tell us what was cut is ignorance. Last time I checked, the internet will spill all the moment the game is released, if it hasn't been already.

Jibbs wrote
We are asking for a simple explanation as to what was cut.A quick summary
Who exactly is "we"? You? The other PALGN members? The other forum members on every other forum in Australia? I hardly think everyone is asking for a simple explanation.

Sure, they could give us a simple explanation. Make it clear what was cut, but don't go into detail. This addresses your request, right?

Well, you don't think at least one person is going to probe for more details? And then more people, and more details? There is no end to it, and Rockstar have simply opted to cut it off now. It makes perfect sense. They can never satisfy the individual whims of the rabid GTA masses, and instead focus their efforts on trying to deliver their equally compelling product in a timely and enjoyable manner for all fans. They don't have time to start going over details about tiny missing pieces with people. Well, the PR team might, but I'm sure they have better things to do.

Again, they automatically know that every person who may complain about the lack of details is clearly a GTA fan, and will buy the game regardless. This isn't them being assholes, this is them running a business. I'm not saying I don't want whatever is added back in, but I sure know manning up to Rockstar and demanding details about crap they have no desire to reveal is a fruitless effort.

A cutscene is missing, then? Spend two minutes on Youtube, and be satisfied. Ordinarily I would agree with those who say it's about the principle here, but come now. This is GTA. You know, I know, we all know we are all going to buy it. Rockstar don't particularly care where from, but they will land the cash. Until then, they will happily ignore the outraged minimum internet population and focus on marketing towards the faceless casual gaming masses that eat GTA up with any utensil they can find.
BurnZ wrote
I think this sums it up.

What the hell do you want them to say? "Yeah, we cut this scene, and it was totally violent and there were naked women having sex everywhere. Then this awesome gunfight happens, and girls are fucking everywhere.

But you don't get to have it."

Saying what was cut is retarded, because you are essentially dangling a carrot in front of the rabbit-y faces of Australian gamers. Rockstar can put up with the forum members bitching, but the millions of consumers who buy the game will have no idea.

So what do you want them to do? Have a Rockstar guy stand there in-store, and every time someone goes up to the counter, stop them and say: "Hey man, before you give us money, we just want to tell you about stuff that we gave to everyone else, but not to you." That's essentially what you are asking them to do by giving a straight-forward answer. Well, they would prefer the money of ignorant consumers over satisfying you (especially since you will buy the game anyway, from Australia or otherwise).

When one forum knows, everyone knows.
Wow, people are idiots. You really thought they wouldn't release the same version in New Zealand? I thought people were kidding when they said they were going to pre-order from NZ. Sigh.

Rockstar haven't even said what is cut from the game, and everyone is in an outrage. Who cares? The ability to pick up hookers and see a car wobble around for a few seconds isn't that amazing.

While D.O.A. was a terrible movie, it did have some good looking chicks in it, namely:

Devon Aoki
Holly Valance

So I guess Uwe does have some taste
Yeah, except he didn't direct it, and wasn't associated with it in any way.

Did the super mario movie ruin the games reputation? or did the street fighter,DOA or mortal kombat movies?
Partly, but it isn't even in the same league. Boll consistently CONTINUES to make shit movies, despite openly knowing that every gamer and moviegoer on the planet hates his work. That is pure arrogance and egotistical garbage which fuels debate among the video gaming community, which in turn makes us look like a bunch of whining little bitches when we try to get him to stop.

It's not that the other movies like Mario and DOA didn't tarnish the genre, but Boll is beyond that now. He is a living joke, and he must be stopped.

I don't have to go to his movies, no - but as a gamer I always have to hear and read about his latest piece of garbage film based on (more often than not) an equally garbage video game.

Sign the damn petition.

I was watching resident evil, and it occurred to me that in circumstances like zombie or alien attacks, gamers would be the best people to rely on!

Think about it, we battle zombies and undead and aliens EVERYDAY or whenever we play a game, we have mastered some arts like:

the quick turn
getting into the corner so as not to be swamped in a 360 degree radius
knowing when to reload, knife, run or jump
figure out complex puzzles
know that combining green+red and yellow herbs increases our life span!

so i was wondering does anyone else agree? Do you guys think gamers would be great or better than the average person in a zombie attack?
This guy is awesome. Not thinking about how games breed killers, but how games breed badass action heroes.

Nice! You are awarded with a green plus on your post!
Yeah, that's highly unlikely. Our parties are too good.

Re: The "Man-Teen" Era (5 years ago)
Meh, no point in having intelligent discussion about this unless it's with her. We know how awesome we all are. Especially me.

I say she's a bitch. Ignorant moron.
To whoever said it - Good News Week. Sucks. Balls.

I might have possibly been inclined to check out this show, despite the whole "Aussie drama" bullshit. However, I then heard some douchebag radio DJ talk about it (ie. get paid to feign an interest in it), and he said it will be like an "Australian Sopranos".

No thanks. The Sopranos is the best TV drama ever made, and this will be an insult.
